It raises your stock boost levels to what you want it to. On a stock turbo, max you can get off it is 18psi then power starts to fall off the higher RPMs. Right now your car bone stock is boosting 14psi I think.

14 psi??? you are probably going by that sh!tty onboard boost guage, if you got a aftermarket boost guage you would notice that you are running 8-10 psi on stock wastegate actuator.
peace, chris

So l2rtsiawd how are you liking that blitz sbc id? Does it hold boost good, and what functions does it have?

Depending on your application I would think that the profec-b with the steering wheel remote switch would be good depending on the amount of money you want to spend. That is prob what I'm going to be getting. Haven't heard any bad things about them. Jake

Holds boost just fine and is capabable of holding 36psi. It has 4 boost settings/peak hold funtion/overboost warning/scramble boost/and a cool display.

Dejon tool
and with the hella creep i have....
when i run-out first gear hard then shift to second the wastegate stays open until i back off it...
anyone had similar problems? could it be:
#1 bad creep
#2 bad boost controller
#3 BOV "leaking"

good news though...my stock clutch just decided to start holding again...

with the gear specific boost control? How does the controller know what gear your in?

Joe P.

It works grate, no creep or spikeing. But then I have stock exhaust at the moment

Only complant I have about them is if you dont put a little oil on the knob it will get little rust specs.

Are MBC's more likely to spike than an EBC? I want an MBC due to my budget, but I heard they spike. Any suggestions? (Im lookin at the Hallman MBC)

This is Ryan95TsiAWD(see 4 posts above) ....im too lazy too switch usernames

I now have an EBC and it is much better. BUT as long as you tap the MBC in the right place spiking wont be an issue.

I'm using the med-high dual boost controller from Dejon. No problems in the 2.5 months I've had it.

HKS EVC 2, old yes but a really pimp boost controller. Has 2 preset buttons, once for 15psi and one for 20psi for me, and another button that activates a volume knob which you can turn up from there. I have run as high as 23-24psi with it. Works great. With the unit powered off it returns to my gate pressure of 10psi.

You can buy these badboys on ebay now for a hundred or so bux..

I got the Apexi AVCR. Im happy with it. Very easy to adjust the boost and keeps the tires from spinnin to a minimum. Has a lot of nice features. You can set the boost by rpm and by gear. If youre fwd then I would recommend this but if you have awd then a manual boost controller does its job perfectly fine.

The Profec B or HKS EVC 2 is exactly what I need. I'm sure as hell not spending over $100 on a boost controller though; too bad their aren't any on eBay right now.

I'm looking at a Hallman mbc, please tell me where and how you have your mbc mounted. Pics would be great too.

Jake

AVC-D Got the old model that sets boost by RPM, dont have the newfangled digital one.

Turbosmart's E-boost

Works great, lotsa features, you can see a review in Mar/Apr issue of Performance Auto and Sound.

Turbosmart is the Australian parent company of TurboXS, so you should be able to get it from them.

Cheers
