They should be firing their design staff not laying off the assembly workers.

Quite Witty!!! :thumb:

They commented that sales of cars made at that plant have slid 35%. Look at whats made at that plant now... We have the 3g eclipse & Spyder, which really need to be resyled and upgraded (power-wise). We have the Chrysler Sebring coupe & dodge stratus coupe, which look better than the 3g, but are equally dull to drive.

Then we have the galant... which is boring family car, even the new ones arent that great.

Finally, we have the endeavor, which is a good soccer-mom SUV... I wouldnt be surprised if it has halfway decent sales.

Mitsu doesnt really have anything to bring people in besides the Evo, they really need to update their line-up.

Mitsubishi is stupid, seriously 3 SUVs? They're not Ford. Get rid of the Montero, Endeavor, and Outlander? I agree, the only car I would want from Mitsu is an Evolution.

They should give you a free wide-screen TV with the purchase of any car :)

haha I second that one, a free big screen TV with the purchase of an EVO... now if only I had $30k.

Also mitsu has 4 different SUVs... which is 3 more than they should have.

Montero
Montero Sport (only decent one)
Endeavor
Outlander

Yes i have many friends whos dads are beeing let off. I live 10 miles south of Normal. I agree, the 3G was a mistake and they need to make a coupe Evo:thumb:

I wonder sometimes how car companies work. I mean, I realize these huge outfits are lumbering barges that you won't be able to speed up enough to water ski behind, but shouldn't they at least _try_ to steer them kind of away from the obviously impending rocks?

Look at what the 99 Eclipses are pulling, used twenty and more thousand miles. Is all the tooling just "gone"? Would it be impractical for them to put the 2G back into production, with current improvements? Nissan seems to be doing okay with the 350Z, Ford is repeating the GT-40 and apparently the Mustang, rumors are that the Camaro will be a throwback, why not Mitsubishi?

I dunno. Sedan-wise, Mits just doesn't seem able to find a "place" at the market. The Diamante was one of the early secrets, and the fools left it that way.

24% sales slump? Are Mitsubishis that bad, or is everyone else's stuff (Altima V-6?) that much better?
