You have to have the MAS on or the car will not run. You could get a VPC if you want to get rid of the mas all together.

i got mine to run without the MAS for like half an hour. all you gotta do is keep your foot on the gas all the time and put it in neutral when you wanna stop.

thanks fore the info guys but if i buy a cold air intake for my car do i have to buy special parts to get it to work or will the cold air intake for my car have everything i need??

Have you thought about hacking the stock air canister and just putting a K&N in your car? I did this on both DSMs that I have owned and gotten noticeable differences both times. I also removed the silencer from the back of the MAS. You can hack that thing till there is only enough to hold the air filter in there and let it just rest in there. There are numerous web pages out there that show you how to do this free mod. Check the tuning section out here.

just buy a k&n filter for it i forget the pn. then take the air can out and use the clips for the air can to clip the filter in place worked on both my dsm's

where exactly did you find a cold air intake for a 90 laser?
