I just returned frome my shop. Took me close to 3 hours to install it. I used a spacer plate between the head and the manni, and did not have to crush the water pipe at all on my 2G. I did not have to remove the coolant return line and bolt at the block behind the compressor either. Everything went pretty smooth. The only prob, was that there was no plug for the oil supply line at the oil filter housing. So I had to use a bolt with silicon. Only running 15psi for the ride home, onw thing is clear: this turbo wants to spool. And hard! It is still of course not like a 16G, nut def. quicker than my S20G. And at only 15 it pulls just as hard as the S20G at 20psi(which is what I was running) I cant wait to really get on it. Took it easy. When I get back to the shop in the morning I have to go over everything, and make sure there are no leaks. The drivers side fan would not fit, though, because the wastegate actuator is on that side. So Im onle using the passenger side(I used the main side harness so it acts like the regular fan, not the secondary)

Can you tell us what the boost threshhold is now, and what it was with the 16G? 3500?

Mike C.

Sounds like everybody is going with this turbo now. It sounds like a really good turbo well have with it. Go out and get those's v8's

Well I cant even tell you how quickly it spools. I have no first gear at all. Since the engine and cams, I am through first gear in a couple seconds. But between shifts and not even really getting on it, the bost, it seemed, was always there. Every shift it rockets back up to 15 psi as quick as I can get on the gas.

Who sells this turbo? I tried to search for it in the forums but the search words have to be at least 4 letters (doh!). Just looking for some details on it. Thanks.

did i mention i hated you? LOL
sounds like you need to hit the track soon and show us some good times

Does anybody know when the AGP L1R is supposed to be ready?

Tthe L3R sound nive boost at 4300 RPM.

With external wastegate and 2G manifold its almost thesame price as DSM motorspost t3/4t.

That's giving me ideas.

Enjoyed boosting I hope to get some soon here because the 14b is killing.

Im using the E housing. Havnt checked the HZ count btu im getting full spool from 3000rpms in 3rd gear by 3700-3800. And I still have not done any tuning. I cant look quick enough in 1st to give you a full boost rpm. Like I said 1st is gone in like 3 seconds. I have to do some more playing around with the actuator.

My hertz is way over 2000. Never got a chance to glance over. I will have someone else look while I try to drive. :D

This may be a dumb Q, but isnt the HZ on the afc based on the boost pressure?

The #'s in the following are made up to show what I mean:

ie: at say 15psi(any turbo) hz always=1800,
at say 20psi (any turbo)=2400hz

No. If that were true there would be no reason to get a bigger turbo because they would all be the same. The hz is the air being metered by the MAF sensor. A bigger turbo will make higher hz at lower boost. That's a really bad way to put it but I think you know what I am telling you.

How mcuh boost and what was the air temp?? They HZ can change as the air temp changes. That is why at the same boost level the hz can change from day to day.

Well I did some quick checks today on my way home from the MachV Open House. Now with a buddy in the car with me, I was able to see that I am only running 13psi, not 15. I hit 1760Hz at 6800rpm. 1760, 13psi. Thats moving some air, if you ask me. I will be going to 20psi soon. Spool between gears is instant. As soon as I shift it goes right backup, as soon as I get back on the gas.

Hz changes significantly when you hack the MAS. On a 2g MAS with three honeycombs removed (top and sides), my Frank 3 hits 2500 at 23 psi. It also makes a difference on what head, cams, VE, ..., ...

AWDriven.

I have a stock head, HKS cams, and un-hacked MAS my hertz today at the top of second was 2350 at 17psi.
