I am thinking on buying a mitsu 3000gt vr4 twin turbo!! I got a 91 laser turbo that i will be putting back to stock for my g/f!! And i could use alot of the parts on the 3000 from the laser right??? hks bov hsk evc fmic, my 18" wheels this is awd so will they still have the same bolt pattern???
What are they like good cars ???
Anything ishould look for when looking at this???
What is a major problem(S) they have if any??
Whats the horsepower like??
Just like a laser to add parts on and make it go fast??
And wich would you guys prefer??
And its not like id be a trader i still will have two dsm's!!!!!!!!!!

ur gonna need 2 BOV VR-4 are Twin Turbos as for the FMIC you probably can with some custom I/C piping.

the cars are pretty fast stock i have seen 13.3 timeslips stock. I have seen high 10's with dual 18G turbos while breaking loose on AWD

they have a notorious weak tranny and the later ones come with 6SPD. Just look for a VR-4 just like any other car good maintenance record, low milage, check for rust on frame, & have fun

they come with 320 HP stock but weight in 4000LBS.

yup a few bolt on u can get into the 12's

Are the newer ones trannys better??

Newer 3kGT's had pretty good trannys, but were still prone to failure with higher horsepower numbers.

The fact that you would have to buy 2 of several mods is why I went with a 1g Talon AWD. 2 turbos, 2 BOV, 2 IC's (Depending on your setup). Very expensive to mod.

But at the same time, are insanely fast stock.

Its your choice ultimately man, but, I'D GO FOR IT!!!

They are vey sweet cars, but check your w/your insurance if you are under 25. I think you could find that a ton of $$$$ could be spent on your laser instead of insurance payments. If you can afford it try to find a 99 they are the best looking IMO.

Also check Autotrader and Ebay, but be careful about Ebay, seems there are some shady dealers on that site nowadays.

Also keep an eye on the insurance, yet another reason why I couldn't afford one, VERY high insurance.

I saved like 800 bucks every 6 months from going to my spyder from the 95 vr4. I've only been in one accident....that went through insurance.....and I've haven't had any tickets. I'm 18 also. That just goes to show ya how bad insurance is on vr4s.

Oh and for those haters out there, I could break the tires loose on the stock turbos.

I love vr4's, but my just kept having tons and tons of problems. Much like our cars they do have chronic problems. I'd still take another on any day.

Isn't the vr4 6 speed a getrag tranny? If so arent those suckers expensive to fix.
