jeeps are fast. i beat a 302 60 something year camaro by like 2 car links. this was back in 93' the jeep was a 92' 4.0L hight out put 6- some where around 200hp. i now have a jeep liberty, it's a 3.? something 4x4; i forget (i go out and look but my wife has it right now). well this week i beat one of those new haunydai sports coups (that is if you can call it a sports coupe).

i've raced a couple si's and it's gone both ways. I beat one with a decent driver but the car wasn't running quite right because even at high rpms in like 3rd and 4th he still wasn't gaining. I've also been beaten by some si's that were almost bone stock. Any race depends on the driver of each car as much as it does the car--there are exceptions though, there's times where you are just too over matched to beat what's lining up next to you no matter how little talent the other driver has.

what about a non- vtec integra with exhaust? can a 2g auto with intake and rear section exhaust be it? thanks

would my n/a automatic be able to beat a automatic beretta stock. all i got right now is the free mods.

on all races its hard to tell unless you know the whp of both vehicles and know both drivers, it s a big crap shoot.

the other day i raced a chevy blazer...he musta had sonthin in the back though cause he squeeled the tires and that baby leaned back FAR...but by the time he gain traction i was already 3 car lenghths or so in front of him....then i reached just abouve the speed limit and slowed down...damn good thing i had my radar detector.!!

Neons are slow economy cars like civics and will never be fast and any dsm will kill a neon

my 91 Tsi Awd was only beated (but only by a little bit) by a Twin turbo Jetta, that #@%#@%#@%#@%er was quick as #@%#@%#@%#@%.
if you really want to race and win, then get a turboed dsm.

I had a 98 R/T untill someone stole it. Bone stock I ran a 15.7@89mph with a 2.3 60ft time. After a few mods I ran a 14.7@93mph that was on crapy Nitto NT450's 205/40/16 (the rims where TSW VX1's). 60ft times where a 2.2x My mods where very basic. CAI, 2.5" dynomax Cat back (waste of money on a DOHC neon...it came with 2.25" exhust) , AFx Race PCM UDP and solid FMM. Neons are Very light. My tiped the scales at 2879 with me in it. I'm a 150lbs. Don't even think about trying a ACR...there is nothing in that the only options where Rear Window Defrost and AC...that's it. No PW PDL PS nothing. Not even a radio.

Just to clear things up with people. A stock 1G(95-99) SOHC neon comes with 132hp and 133ft-lbs while a DOHC makes 150hp and 133ft-lbs. There are a lot of things you NT guys could learn from the neon crowed. It would be wise to get to know a few neon performance guys.

The 03 Neon SRT-4 that's comming out has a 2.4L DOHC TURBO. 215hp 245-ft-lbs The torque curve is very flat on the car. Yes it gets TDO4le turbo. There is little to no torque sear due to the equile linght half shafts and latter 03's will come with a LSD. Mopar will have 25hp 50hp and 75hp upgrades at the time of realise. Look out imports, dodge is comming for you...to slauter and kill all honduhs. Think about it a 290hp 325ft-lb neon right from the factory. You can't tell me that it will not run low 13's with a set of slicks.

I have beaten -Modded 96 gs eclipse, modded civic si's,ex's,dx's and all that garbage, beaten 5.0's, modded 305 chevys, and kept up with 350 5-spds. Beaten 1.8t gti, stock gsr's, and side by side with modded gst-s. Everyone thinks u need to have shitloads of stuff done to ur car but its all in the weight, i removed the A/C completely, spare tire, interior, and left dash, and front seats. And lemme tell u what a couple of lbs off can do.

My sister has a 99 RT, its pretty qiuck. She romps my friends 92 laser rs.

I had a friend with an Audi quarto 5 cylinder turbo that was chipped, I win up to 85 at 60 I was almost 2 car length in front of him every time, but that darn turbo hits in and he would barley pass me around 80-85 MPH. I have a friend with a dodge neon he just put an intake exhaust and rebuilt the engine. We are side by side. He has taken some Hondas that had lots a money into them. He also took a new jetta. I think most if it is how well you drive, and how well they drive. I have other stories but they can wait till a different day

neons are actually pieces of crap they are all slow i haven't seen a neon that could beat me yet al though i have never seen a very heavy modded neon- my friend has a 1998 sunfire manual and that thing is so sluggish and just plain slow so you should be able to take one and for neons race them all- they are crap and so are probes so represent the dsm stock world proud and race- race a mustang and hope he has the a/c on-

you can't say that in 2003, watch out for those neons with the hood scoops, they are now officially turbo's!

i got beat by a neon rt at the track, my first time there. i missed 3rd, went into fifth. i launched harder than him and immediatly pulled on him until i missed shifted, badly. his stats were as follows: 1.063 r/t, 2.532 60', 6.938 330, 10.624@ the 1/8 @66.27mph and final was a [email protected]. my stats were as follows: 1.064 r/t, 2.464 60', 6.902 330, 10.707 1/8, (missed shifted there)@62.06 ran the quarter in a pitiful [email protected]. remember i shifted into fifth, killed me. for mods i had my ractive cai and just a muffler at the time. spare tire out and my 18's which are 40 lbs. heavier total than my 16's. on a 1/4 tank of 94 octane. now ive got more mods, going with my 16's on no spare tire or back seats and race fuel also. hope i line up with him again so i can hand him his ass

Actually street racing IS a crime, and the danger is of you hitting innocent people who want nothing to do with your race. If you're going to street race, be sure it's away from civilization.

No offense, but man, you need to work on your reaction times! Not bad for a first time, though Also, you aren't going to gain anything from race fuel unless you're running boost or really high compression/advanced timing.

my other two runs i got a .7something r/t and a .5 something r/t. too lazy to go check my slips. that was my last run of the day, i dunno y my r/t sucked so bad maybe because i didnt eat all that day, fine motor skills were prob. out of wack, who knows.
