Like the topic says... What kind of alarm do you have? How do you like it? Interested in purchasing one and just wondering what some of you guys are using...

The viper that came w/ the car... dont really have anything to compare i to

I have a viper. It's one of the mid-level viper alarms. I really like it. Had to have Quality Auto Sound turn up the sensitivity since it was way to low. It's got that channel hopping and all the good stuff.

It is possible. :thumb:

There's a few Columbus DSMers that have this done to their car. Just gotta find the right kit to get. That's the more difficult part.

Byondevls walkthrough for installing remote start on standard dsm.

#1 buy kit
#2 Install

I know your thinking, it wont work, clutch has to be pushed down
#3, wedge a large brick or boulder on the clutch pedal after parking it.

You could just disable the need for the clutch to be in to start the car. ;)

Bad bad move trust me ,I did it on the Avenger went to start it and boommm oops ,I left the car in gear straight into my dads car.So I would not recomend it on a stick, but Alpine SEA8081 is the best alarm ever made Viper is easy to install and good for the money.:dsm:

Well, yeah, you should make sure its in neutral first. ;)

I had hooked the safty up to the e-brake light so it had to be on to start , even with the e-brake set it ran away draging the rear tires..It was kinda funny to see luckley it caused no dammage to eather car , but I have always wondered if it was in the garage and did it would it go threw the garage and into the pool.. :dsm:

you should always leave your DSM in neutral if you have a turbo timer :/ so therefore it will never jump forward. I never leave my car in gear. oh yeah i have a viper ESP 650 or 600 or whatever one was the more expensive one. the only one better than mine was the 770 with the pager.

i got mine at circuit city..free installation..they said it would take like 3-4 hours but it ended up taking 6 hours..they wanted to do it right..plus i know some of the guys there so i was in the garage for like an hour just hanging out and watching them hook the shit up and test it all out and stuff.. A+ job.

its possible.... just most shops won't do it because of what you guys were saying about people leaving their car in gear. I got a friend who is going to install it for me, so that shouldn't be a problem.

So I hear alot of good things about clifford... most of you guys seem to be happy with those I am assuming.

i have the viper 600esp. Do I like it?? It works I guess. My only complaint about it is the proximity sensor, I really don't like to hear my car chirp everytime someone comes within 5 feet of it.

Mine, it's just a basic standard model, nothing special. It wakes me up.
