Just wondering if anyone has or had a t-28 turbo in their car and what you thought about it? I was reading that it looks completely stock so no one can tell its upgraded and can produce and large amount of power....Opinions? thanks.

larryd has it and from what I understand is happy with the power that it makes and the response of the turbo. Look into the website listed below... FP is a respectable company and would not bs. One thing to look at is the 2g that ran 11s... Makes you wonder what PSI and what the best time was before the install.

well first off are you referring to the T28 or FP Big 28.. two different turbos.. I have the FP Big 28 and I love it.. it hits full boost at 3300rpms for me, it holds boost all the way to redline, and last friday I hit 109mph in the 1/4 at 22psi..

For 3 years I have been running a T28/S60 from Turbonetics on my 96 GSX. The orignal that Larry's is based on. I am very pleased with mine and would highly recommend them for people willing to settle for a consistent low 13/high 12 second car. On the street the turbo absolutely rocks with it's quick spool and gobs of low end. My top end is a touch weak comapred to the 16G, but not too bad. Could be my tired engine. Comparable to the small 16G in power, this turbo is a good purchase for a mostly street driven car, although it does fairly well at the track too.

the Big T28 from FP is comparable to the Big 16G and is good for low 12s and still keeps all the great characteristics fo the street - quick spool and tons of low end, but also has some good top end too.

The 2G AWD that went 11.8@119 with the FP Big T28 was a guy named Loren who had swapped it with his Green. The car went 11.4@127 with the green.

I was going to swap my old T28 with a FP Big T28 but until Larry traps at 115, I am sticking with the ol' T28 I have now. No pressure though Larry :)

If Larry hooks up on the track then it shouldn't be a problem. You can try trackbite(?) which you spray on your tires and then burn out... it becomes sticky like slicks. We use it all the time out at the street races.

haha 115??? not just on the turbo man.. no way in hell :).. figure with web cams and tuning my AFC then possibly but damn thats pressure..hehe

as for trackbite Ive never heard of it before but I may look into it.. im actually comtemplating picking up a set of 15" wheels and putting on BFG Drag Radials for the track..

This was my first post here...thanks for the great responses guys. I think ill look into the fp big28. Thanks again for the help.

Go with the radials... you will be amazed at how much traction you get off the line.

Yeah i'm definately going to get a fpbig28. Trackbite works very well. you should be able to hook pretty good w/ the bfg's. A friend of mine had a set of the nitto drag radials and said they worked fine, but i think the bfg drag radials are better.

people who have experience with track bite...how long does it stay on the tires? does it spray up all over the body? does it adversly affect the tire condition? basically just looking for performance and results of using it...

So does anyone have any opinion about the small t-28? I keep reading about the Big t28, but i found a good deal on a small and want to know if i should go for it or not. Anyone have one that could give me some info?

not to kill your thread but what about the big t28 killer? good turbo or no. from what i hear its a very good turbo for daily driven cars like me. quick spool up and holds much higher boost. good for 380 hp or some stuff :dsm:

I just bought my Big T-28 Killer... It's being made as I type, then it's being overnighted from Japan... LOL okay maybe not. Prolly just from wherever turbochargers.com is located... LOL I'll be sure and let you guys know how it performs... :thumb:

Way to bump an ancient thread. Yeeesh.

The older FP T-28/28 version was rated at 320 crank hp. The newer FP Big28 is rated at 360 crank hp. You can go to dsmtimes.org to view all of the 1/4 times of different turbos. I chose FP because of there proven products. Although AGP and a few other vendors have there own versions, which basically put down about the same power.
