I am interested in what (vehicle wise) you would do with 7,000 cash? I was thinking of building either a 1g AWD to go 11s or a RPS13 conversion. What would all of you do and if this has been done before I appologize.

Put it in something actually worth while instead of a car that won't get you crap. I've seen numerous S13 SR20DET swaps sell for the grand total of ~5k, and that's with a Silvia front end, fresh paint, etc... *twirls finger in the air*

Go get an investment while the economy is in the shitter and sit on it for 10 years.

I was in this situation when I found my car, and I bought it. Sometimes I regret it with what I've learned since then, and I've even considered selling my GST for a 240 and do something crazy with that car, DSM maintenence is just a pain in the ass. I will definately give my car a chance though, I haven't even gotten past the stock turbo :) Oh and to help you out, I'd probably buy a 1g AWD with a blown motor and turn it into a sick ass street/strip car.

Actually, thats a dam good idea. Ima have to change my answer and agree with him. Put that shit in some sort of investment fund and let it sit for about 5 years for when your not into modding cars no more (hope this isnt right) and then it will be worth about 12-13?

Although I'd say investing it is the best option, if you do spend it on your car, remember, body kits/big wings/neons are just a fad... speed never loses style.

well I would finish my pos project or

a. buy a bike

b. pick up one of the nice galant vr4's that have popped up on various car sale sites

c. pay some bills

<--eugenile

leif.. u got 7k in hand? last i heard on the PR board.. u were unemployed like myself.? haha..

anyways.. if i had 7k.. i would finish the car i have currently before getting a new one.. finish my damn 2g so i dont gotta deal wit it anymore knowing it can smoke 90% of cars on the street.. then after that.. then see what i can do with the leftover money.. if any.. if $100.. buy dankity dank.. haha and smoke out all the homies..

My dilema is that the eclipse (while parked in the street) was hit by a 15 year old unlicensed, uninsured driver. The damage alone will total 7k to fix the car. I posted on SRO under gsxtreme. Below I will post some pictures for you guys.

I am leaning on the 1g AWD as it is the best bang for your buck and as somone said previously style goes out but speed is always admired.

What's up GENE!!! I was unemployed and actually just landed a job at a health club. I also have a small business on the side if you didn't notice on the PR board. I can't hang with the herb but I will definately buy a round of drinks for everyone with that 100 :thumb:

just curious, who's payin for the damage?

Parents did the honorable thing and called to report the accident. They plan to pay for the damages.

Take the money the parents give you and get a 1g then dump the other half into mods.

just remember in investments... 8/10 lose money, 1/10 makes money, and 1/10 breaks even. unless u know what ur doing, dont invest. in fact best thing u can do is buy some assests. but with 7k$ ur buyin power isn't really up there.

fuqit..spend it on the car..hahahaha.

50 trim, new gm maf and electronics, new fuel pump, fp regulator, poly motor mount bushings, lowering springs, bov for the laser.
Heads, intake, 4:10 gears, frame ties, 76mm mass air w/tube, drag radials, p1sc supercharger for the mustang.
that should probably take care of it.

Unless you can buy a house, good investments can be pretty tough to choose. And buying a house around here is not that easy. I'd buy a 1G with a blown motor or an S13 and do an SR20 swap. Both will be fun cars. If you're going to keep your 2G, go with an S13, then you can have both (even though you'll have to repair the 2G at some point).

Best thing I ever did was invest into a traditional IRA ... I put in 3G's and when tax time came around instead of getting $900 back I got $1900 just for the IRA investment ... so I actually paid 2G's for my IRA and got 1 back!!! and the good thing is you can't touch it ... it will be there and gain intrest for years ... with 3G's a year by the time your 53 you will have almost half a million (depending on your age now)!

I would say INVEST ... it's the only way to secure a good future, unless of course your BILLY GATES!

I have a couple of things lined up for investment. I will more than likely put 2-3k in it and then be puting a portion of my check also. So the investment, although small, will be included.

Now I just have to wait and find a virgin AWD with blown motor. Anyone know someone? :D
