Ok, heres the deal, I am the Assist. Man. at Domino's, My friend Richie is the General Manager. Ever since I told him I go out to Kansas to check out the Import Scene, He is hooked on it. Every weekend he asks me if im going out there to do some racing and what not, He always wants to go with me, so I take him, (he rides with me), He pays for gas, and drinks and stuff. But this is the 3rd weekend he has came with me to go racing. Now its just getting out of hand. How should I let him down that i dont want to take him anymore. He doesnt have very many friends, and Im not a mean person and just cant let him down like that. What should I do?
btw: sorry so long

Find him a car of his own.
Or let him drive yers once, and he will get addicted to that instead.

Yeah, it sounds like he is a good friend. Just remember you can't respect someone you feel sorry for. I mean what if he reads this post somehow? How will that make him feel. It sounds like you want to be friends but you don't want to hang out EVERY weekend together. I would try to get him into his own set of wheels that way he can make friends with others because he will have something in common with them.

I really thought about telling him I wasnt going to go and then....just go, But I cant do that, Im not that mean, I let him drive my car and he loves it. He almost bought a couple nice DSM's, I even offerd him to buy my car, But he wants this Mustang GT. He wants a mustang but he loves to drive my N/T Talon. You see something wrong with that:confused:

I would suggest he bring his Mustang to the next race.

Man he pay's for gas and drinks!!! I'd ask if he wants to ride everywhere you go!
But if he really annoy's you that much just tell him he can't go! ... one problem though ... HE'S YOUR MANAGER!

Jermz, although poorly written, you simply summarized the first post.

Tell him the cops found out about the location and are all over it now.

Tell him people are starting to talk about you two being more than just "friends". If he's even the slightest bit homophobic, he'll never want to go anywhere with you again!

so your the assistant, and hes the general manager, isn't it against the rules for you two to hang out off the clock?

Why would that be against the rules? I never heard of that. Our store isnt very strict at all, Its like a bunch of teenagers run the store....basically, Im almost 18, and Richie is 19. All the delivery drivers are between 21 and like 40.

I think that rule would only suffice if they were "dating". They can hang out...at least going by Texas workforce laws they could.

Ok...now I'm confused...BacknBlack your a guy right...or are you a girl?

That is pretty good Misundaztood. If anybody ever said that to me about my good friend that I hang out with alot, I would just say #### off. But if it was with somebody that I didn't know that well, they would get blown off pretty quick LOL. Do that, or...

Say somehow how this is "your" thing. Say you enjoy spending time with yourself and your car alone. Just tell him the truth. Say how you want to be good friends still, but just don't want to take him everytime. Tell him you will take him maybe once a month or something.

^^^that is very good advice. Just say that you still want to be friends but you want a little space.

P.S.
what i just said sounded like how my ex broke up with me....hhhmmmmm

it would be against the rules because if you two are friends he might go a little easier on you at work.

So you could just tell him that you need to stop hanging out outside of work because some of the other employees are talking and they think he's showing favoritism. (yes I know you are probably the only assist. manager, but it still applies)

13secGST Ok...now I'm confused...BacknBlack your a guy right...or are you a girl?

Yes I am a guy. I told him straight up I'm tired of taking him all the time. He didn't care that much, I even made him open the store today because I felt like shat because of a bad hangover.
