so i'm out tonight with a bunch of local ricers... though there are a few that are more interested in going fast than being "cool" anyway, one of the guys owns an 02 s2000, and they know he's not the greatest driver, but he still gets lots of respect just because of what he owns. i don't think more than 5 out of the 20+ people there know what my car is and/or what it can do for speed. i was asked a few times,
"which car is yours"
"that one," i say, and point over to mine.
"how fast is it?"
"with a good driver, faster than the s2000 over there, assuming the driver of the s2000 isn't better than mediocre."
"nice"
i don't think most of the people believe me, but what do i care? i'm just glad they didn't say that they wanted to see us race :whew: especially because, as luck would have it (as well as murphy's law), a cop would be within an unsafe distance when we do race... and i'd be SOL.
maybe i'll hang with them another night... and make a scene of leaving early at a high speed...

thats how it is around here. the ricers have a team called 06360. but there is more than one team in norwich so its kinda retarded. but this guy with his crx said he could beat me. he said he had some b16 engine. my friend skip loves imports and they started talking about h22's, A1, A2's. at first i thought we were playing bingo. this guy assumed my car was slow cause i am 17. i didn't race him but it made me feel better that everyone was laughing at him when he said he wanted to race.....

Ask the S2K driver to go wit yah on a lil run and you two get side by side on a highway if NOONE IS AROUND, or either hit up a back road and show em some DSM over HONDA power. GSX Style!

Same thing with my friend and his crx with a b16 sir motor. He said and I quote "I'll definately take you off the line, cause i'm lighter, but you might catch up"

yeah, i was thinking of doing that... ask him if he wants to race, from a roll or from a stop. need more practice, i don't like dumping the clutch from a high rpm, gotta slip it better... i'm pretty sure i would toast him off the line even with a poor launch, just because he'd probably want to show off and spin his tires

Its funny how the honda top of the line car (minus the NSX...thats a supercar ) bows to our lil sport compact cars.

I was in a Honda dealership (interviewing the Manager for sales technique) when two salesmen approached and started talking up the new SI. I laughed and said I had a faster car. They didn't believe me. Silly bastards.

theres a kid at this local spot we hang at with a turbo b16 in a 4 door ex not a bad setup i must say and the guy is an ok driver but he raced my gst and lets just say i ate his lunch from the get go and i took his 50 bucks not bad for a honda i told him he was like u cheated and im like how he said ou were boosting and im like yeah hes like cheater so now im the cheater ahh good times

man, S2K on a back Road with a DSM AWD. now i know how DSM's handle, but i gotta say, the S2K is set up for turning, SET UP. Screw with a Miata with an expirienced driver on a back road and you'll know what I mean, same basic premise just more power in one. Top of the line Honda vs. DSM stock for stock, where'd the Type R go? what 14.7?! what? RSX? little faster?! Hey what about the S2K? 13.--? Hey, said minus the NSX. Frankly, I hate honda's (driving them) and their whole lack of torque, but you can't just hate on them like that, there are people who know what they're doing and might actually be faster.

But come on, the chance of a group of ricer's like stated above.. do you realy think they with there B16 and H22 engines could take any of the mildly moded DSM's? Now if they had a H22 turbocharged or something I could see maybe with a lot of weight reduction... but ricer's are always adding worthless crap onto there car's makeing it weigh more.. not less so, I seriously doubt. it.

Now the hand full of ppl with striped honda's that have had a drive train conversion (RWD or AWD) and or runing below 12's DO know what they are doing. But thoughs ppl are almost never ricer's..

i love it when the local rice boy comes around and tells us that his 2000 SI runs 14.6 with just a cold air intake. Then he tries to show off by ripping it out of the parking lot...huge intake sound...very little go....one thing ricers dont kno about...ft lb's baby

I hang out with the local ricers quite a bit. We have all sorts. Some are like me where they like riced cars but have enough brain cells to know their still slow. Some are idiotic, real ricers who we love to #### with. A convo I had with one recently,

Me: So is that your SI over there?

BeatDogg: Yup.

Me: Your bodykit & paint look really good. You just show or do you have anything done to the motor?

BeatDogg: Nah dogg, I gotz lotz of shit. Turbo, supercharger, naws, computer shit...

Me: Oh really, can I see?

BeatDogg: Yeah sure...pops hood...

Me looking at completely stock VTEC motor: So..um...where the turbo?

BeatDogg: Right thar, fool...points to air filter...

Me: O...k. So where's the supercharger?

BeatDogg: Man, you sure don't know engines!...points to heat shield...so fool, what you runnin'?

Me: NOS fogger system, aic controller, direct port nitrous injection, bout' 10 thousand dollars...run's 10s.

BeatDogg: DAYAUM!


Then I went home.

my favorite are the ones that go through all the trouble of an engine swap and still end up with 140 hp.

haha, its funny how i read this post. My buddy has a s2000 with a full mugen exhaust. Standalone ecu and a bigger throttle body (don't know what size). The cars handling is amazing but not as good as an nsx or anything. He let me take it out and test it out. So i went through the first three gears and hit 8500 in each gear. It pulled hard but i was thinking in my head man does my tsi feel alittle more powerful. Now my buddy is a pretty modest guy and he always brags how i would woops the shit out of him b/c he just damn scared of turbo cars. But i never thought my car would be faster at all. So later that night we headed down to the city and got lined up in the toll booth next to each other. (How perfect was that) I heard him revving it up ready to launcha nd both our lights turn green at the same time. He hit it and since i'm fwd i launched at 3000 and let the clutch slip slightly to prevent wheel hop. It had to been the most perfect fwd drive launch of my driving career. Anyways i stuck about 1/2 a car lenth a head of him and i slowly pulled in 3rd gear. Now keep in mind i'm fwd and don't have many mods. I just have a catback, joe p @ 15psi, 1g bov, and intake. So i was pretty happy. Oh and before i forget i have a 60,000 stock clutch that doesn't grip like it used to. So i would feel pretty confident if i were you to race the s2k.

it would be nice if he were interested in joining... but somehow i doubt he will and i gotta find at least one female...
