ok I am thinking of making my talon the ultimate sleeper. I want to find some very unique and semi hidden guage mounts. I came across some company that makes new door surfaced that have guage mounts. They discontinued their 1g dsm model but I might get a hold of some. Give me some good idea for guage mounts, triggers, computers, everything. Pics would greatly help.

As soon as I get my digi camera back I can give you some pics of my car. You could also mount gauges in your center heater vent. The're not very original but you can't see them from the outside of the car.

I was thinking of turbo trixs one guage and safc mount. But I will have 4 guages total so I need some more ideas.

so no one has unique mounting ideas?

Well, I plan on flush mounting ALOT of stuff, but the way Im doing it is not for sleeper (mine will be rather obvious), but more for cleanliness. Im getting the Turbo Trix SAFC/1 guage flush mount for the center heater vent (as you meantioned), and Im making a flush mount for my turbo timer under my CD player, but I dont concider either one of those "sleeper". Sleeper.......I like the door mount you mentioned, but wouldnt those be kinda hard to see? Maybe you can make a mount to go on the underside of the dash (kinda under the steering wheel, but more to the right or left by your knees kinda). Ever think about Maybe tossing some in the lil' center console area? (the lil compartment by your shifter and e-brake). Or what about getting one of those mount kits that go in your glove box? Id say thats about as sleeper as you can get

eh if you have removed your complete a/c system you can turn the knob bezels into nifty guage holders and if you have tinted windows they are almost invisable; or you can be super cool and put them all in the stereo dual din bezel and make a little cover for it (pardon spelling i live in fla we cant even vote right)

please understand that if you can look at the car (interior or exterior) and tell that its modded in any way at all, its not a sleeper.

Nonsense. It's a sleeper so long as everyone who looks at it thinks it's a slow piece of shit

I think it's more of the owners openion of what sleeper is. It will be deferent to a degree for every DSM owner.

However he said "Ultimate sleeper" so obviously he does not want anything done half assed looking, I would think he wants it to all look like it came that way and hidden where any normal person siting in the passenger seat would think the interior is stock.

Now as said there are 3-4 main place's to mount your stuff however your boost guage will be a problem, THAT does need to be in clear sight of the driver.

You can mount a Turbo Timer in the little flip up compartment above your shifter, which if you have any questions about I could help answer as I just did this.

You could mount any other hardware in the glove box, and if you wish to have a in cabin MBC, you could mount that in your arm rest. Or anything else you wish to put in these areas.

the last place you could put guages would be where the stock sterio is. Personaly I have to have tunes some times. So I have a nice cd player siting in the top half. But you could put your guages in a flat black dumby bay and mount that on the lower half, then cover this with some sort of snap on or flip down pice to hide it.

Man this thread was posted a long ass time ago. Back when I had my 1g. Anyway I am going for a low profile look with my second generation now. I just mounted my boost and air/fuel gauges right up in with my speedo and tach. Looks really good and Ill post pictures later.

i guess you got a talon but if you had an Eclipse you could put RS decals on it like on the back, thats wheere i alwasy look to see if an eclipse is fast..

You don't have to go that far. Keep the rice down focus on performance mods and you will achieve what you are looking for
