I'll get to the part where I emulated a scene in the Fast and the Furious in a second; let me first explain how the whole thing started...
So my sunroof has been leaking and I noticed the weather stripping at the seam in the back was coming up a little. So I took it off and found the damn thing had been leaking so much that it actually started rusting pretty badly; to the point where the weather stripping had nothing to cling to anymore. I tried fixing it with some sealer and crap, but to no aveal. So last night I decided I was gonna go over to the salvage yard and see what kind of shape the sunroof on a 96 Talon I've seen out there was in.
This is where it gets great. Last night I just laid the sunroof back on my car in case it rained. I totally forgot I didn't screw it down! I get up this morning and start headin' to the salvage yard. I get going down Michigan Avenue cruising at about 50 miles an hour with the windows up and the A/C kickin', and suddenly I hear a woosh! I look up and see the 20 pound sunroof in my rear view mirror flipping through the wind like a wounded duck. It hits the ground, and not 1 second later, a truck gives it the business. I thought to myself, "If it was fixable before, I sure as hell bet it isn't now!" I didn't even stop. It was great. The second thing I thought, as I just continued on to the junkyard, was, "Didn't I see something like that before?" Oh yeah, Paul Walker did that same thing in the Fast and the Furious, except it was targa top. I'm telling you, it was quite a site. The funny thing is, I wasn't even mad. I was kind of relieved; at least now I know I HAVE to get a new one. It didn't turn out to be all that bad either, the guy gave me a great deal. 30 bucks for the glass! I just thought you guys might get a laugh out of my little debacle this morning.
