YOu cannot compare insurance rates unless:
-You are the same age (to the day)
-You live in the same house in the same town in the same state in the same country.
-You have the same driving record (every ticket was for the same violation on the same street in the same town in the same country at the same time)
-You have the same credit rating
-You drive cars with the same VIN (to the letter)

Unless you match these parameters (you cannot), you cannot compare insurance rates.

dude, i work for State Farm. if people didnt compare insurance rates, then people wouldnt be paying less/more. we'd all be paying the same.true, all of those factors have to do with rates, however, this is just for a general idea.on the majority, most people get cheaper rates with certain compaines with certain vechicles than others.it all depends, all depends.

I work for Farmer's, Progressive, and Hagerty.
I constantly hear "Why does my roommate only pay 'X'?" People need to know that there are too many variables in too many state by-laws to compare prices with anyone other than a twin. Of course, I will always encourage shopping around, but only from other companies, not their customers.

i was thinkin about gettin a Eclipse imported into the uk but we have very expensive insurance,
dew to the car being a 2.0 turbo(the model i want to get)

it would be clased as a group 20 whitch is the highest in all of the insurance groups.

my question is this

what is the insurance like over in the usa
would a 21 year old be able to get insurance on a 2.0turbo Eclipse in the usa

well i was guessing about £7000 to £8000
if i imported one to the uk that is if a insurance company would even insure me atall

what price would of couse include modications

I *was* paying $180 per month full coverage on a 1999 GSX. I'm 21 with two tickets, one for not obeying a traffic signal and another for speeding. I am not under my parents insurance, but simply on my own.

Notice the *was*. I totalled my car about 3 weeks ago from a stupid deer. I hate Wisconsin. Luckily insurance didnt hassle me at all and I am getting all my money back plus the junked car.
