Anyone ever used chrome piston rings? Advanced sells them for something like $54 a set, just wondering if its worth it and how well they work.

Wow, if that's not rice, I don't know what is. Dude, just buy some normal ones. I doubt those Advanced ones last at all.

thank you 4g63t, greathuskie, and slideways for the useful info.
Everyone else, lets think of the logic here. Rings are inside the engine, why would I care what they look like. I'm building an engine so its obvious that i'm not an average dumbass buying all the bling bling parts. Plus, under high heat, such as in a cylinder of a running engine, chrome turns blue, so what would the point be?

You drive a VW and your giving advise on piston rings? Oh god. Go back to VWVortex and talk about your M3 Mirrors and Ottinger grill you just installed. I got rid of my GTI VR6 because of guys like you.
