My friend's uncle is a tow truck driver and saved me when I broke down at Mitsubishi of all places. I saw him a year later when I was with my friend and he asked how the car was. I said she had been doing great ever since..... but I guess she wanted another tow ride, because she broke her inner-tie rod maybe an hour after saying that...as I was pulling out of his driveway. LOL No better place to break than a few yards away from a flatbed.

The first time he towed me, as we were driving down the road, a Subie guy saw it and cracked a smile. :(

Well okay its over now... i got my car back and guess what. This fkuckin alarm thing cost like $600 to remove from my damn car.... that dont even include the tow. They really ####in screwd the pooch on that shit and im fkuckin pissed. Oh well nothin i can do about it really cept piss an moan so ill just hush up. But im so happy i got it back ;D

600 to remove it! I wonder how much it cost to put in. I had some guy try to charge me 400 for helping me with my car and I basically told him he could go to hell and I refused to go higher than 200 or nothing. He didn't do shit I just got to use his shop and I thought 200 was generous, he was trying to tell me how much time he had to waste because of it and I just laughed right then.

DAMN!!!!!!!! 600 to remove? I know people in the bay that will do a damn good job on removing and REINSTALLING for $200-300. Get a nice alarm with a lot of features on ebay, and you are set.

$600 should really include, removal, and installing a new alarm, with remote start on a MT car with all the features the alarm has to offer, perhaps even some options.

What exactly was the problem?

The problem was that the owner before mangled the install like really ####in bad and the reason it costed so much is cuse they had to spend a massive ammount of time to figure out the cluster #### of wires. I guess most was labor cost cuse thats just ####in rediculous. The guy does good work so my dad always uses him on like every thing.

Oh yeah check this... they let us take all the wires and modules and shit that was screwing it up and its like a big paper grocery bag full of shit. I hate previous owners who lie to your face.

I had almost the same thing happened to me. I went to the movies with my girlfriend her friend. We got out of the movies, and I go open the car with the alarm remote, get in, and it will not start, not even crank, but all of the electronics worked. It was around midnight, and I was done after another 10-11 hours of work and 2 hour movie. So I called it quits, and we took subway home. The next morning I went back, and called AAA to get the car back home. I was waiting for the track forever. It finally came, I get in the car, and try to start it, it wouldn't do it. And then it hit me, it is my alarm. Ever since I got the car, I was wondering what the switch by the brake padel was for. It had what I thought was 2 positions, at least I tested out only 2 :) - arm the alarm, and disarm it for a valet parking. There was a third position, that I never thought was there, until I reached and wigled the switch. What do you know, car started right up. I must've hit the switch with my foot when I exited the car on the movie night. I appologized to the AAA guy, and gave him tip for showing up.
But that was the last time I used AAA for tow. From now on they are only there for the maps, and books.

Had the same problem with my Turbo Buick once. More knowledgable buddy came over to check it out, bypassed it in 5mins with some extra wire we had lying around.
