I pulled the downpipe and cat for a 3" downpipe and there is a wire that attaches to the car and the cat. Do I need to connect that to something?

Thanks

That is a ground wire, it connects to the body on one end and usually there will be a nut/bolt welded somewhere on the cat hanger. Not exactly sure why they have it there but the factory must have done it for a reason, maybe its to ground the O2 sensors?

I'm not sure why it is there either, but I ran my car with a 3in exhaust and no rear O2 sensor without the grounding wire and things worked fine for me.

Sweet thanks guys!:thumb:

I can't remember now where I ran across it, but the word was that the exhaust was grounded for radio interference noise suppression. Beats the hell out of me. WTF
