tstkl said:I want to know how they got it there, and where he plans on driving it. Why is the hood even there, he might as well just cut the hood in half and just use the drivers side. Then at least he could close it. How did they get it there? If they trailored it with the hood up, I would imagine the hood would just swing back and crack the windsheild, and I doubt they actually drove it to the dyno and said, HEY, LETS PUT THE HOOD ON!!!!!
hahahaha, it broke, toyotas reliable my ass, engine go kaboom. Looks like they should have spent some of their turbo money on a better headgasket/headstud combo rather than having a dyno queen. idiots...
Thomas91169 said:the turbo was probably bolted on there at whatever shop owns that dyno, and they were doing it for bragging rights and shits and giggles. maybe they had plans for internal work, and wanted to see how far they could push the envelope before it blew.
Thomas91169 said:that spark almost looked like a piece of molten metal dropped from the manifold holding the turbo up in the air. looked as if you were welding a rod onto a pipe and went through the rod, and it was red hot from being welded and it sparks when it hits something.
cause i seriously doubt a head gasket makes sparks when it goes. if anything, just makes a big ol mess with oil and coolant and a loss of compression.

boostedinaz said:Errol said it blew a head gasket when the boost came on hard and hit around 80 PSI. Under that amoutn of pressure and heat crazy things can happen.

no I did not notice, what are you talking about?DSMJim said:You did notice the Weld spindle mounts on the front didn't you? Thats not generally dyno queen gear.

boostedinaz: your suprised someone said they don't see the point in blowing a motor just to see how much power it can hold for the fun of it. Think of the cars we drive, I can think of one person who did that, and he blew his 7 bolt at 450 whp when he had another engine ready to be dropped in once the 7 bolt blew. I was looking at it from a realistic point of view. What would the point of having a car you can't drive anywhere (due to visual obstructions) no matter how much power it makes. And as for blowing up an engine on purpose, Im guessing an engine that can handle 1200whp for two runs (since it blew on the third) isn't cheap. Its just not practical to smack a turbo that big onto any car because you can't use it for anything other than a piece of paper that says 12xx and a video of a car making a LOT of noise.
and the first sentence of my second paragraph was sarcasm, since toyota is known for being paranoid as shit and building their cars like none other.
and as for a car that can put down 1200 whp reliably, Im sure one of these bad boys could do it:
http://www.hennesseyperformance.com...uuZo&DoThis=Dodge+Viper+SRT10&ActionReq=Where
it says 800-900, but you can drive that daily and have somewhat like factory reliability. Im sure with some more money into the bottom end and some more lbs from those turbos and 1200 could be done.
anyways I though there were lots of supras running that much power (by lots I mean like over 10, since thats a lot of cars for that much power.)
thanks for flipping out over a comment on someone elses car, just because me and the owner don't see eye to eye.

These kids will probaly never have a decent car or EVER make decent numbers and will probaly get out of the DSM/car game in the next few years, so why bother? More power to ya for doing it (you are a moderator after all) I just hate to see you slave away on the keyboard for some ignorant 16 year old who doesnt get what you are saying anyways.

Blk95gs said:My intention was not to create a discussion/arguement about it being stupid/other cars faster/etc.
I just found the video to be ridiculous, as I have never seen someone bolt a turbo like that onto a Supra, so I figured I'd share it.
