being sarcastic
haha gotcha. Here's a tip though: Internet + sarcasm = No

Anyway, the headgasket for me is a bi***.

From reading all the posts, and working on these cars i think these cars are in general are a pita to work on.

Not really. Every time you do something it gets easier. In 4 months I have dropped 4 transmissions in DSM's. The first sucked and it has gotten easier every time. When I went to do the at to mt swap, I dropped the mt out of the Donor car by hand using only a socket wrench, same with the transfer case. It helped to have the front of the car removed to do it though. Headlights forward was Sawzaw'd off.

I'd say the Foglights as stated above and when I did my wheel bearing it was a PITA to get the axle out of the hub as it was rusted to the hub!

yes, i hate the water pump too. but if you think working on a dsm is bad, try working on a fiero with the engine cradle still in the car, you have to hunch over the trunk area to reach the engine since its in the back :(
a lotus esprit is worse, the engine is about 5 feet from the back of the car, so you have to like, sit in the trunk while you work on the engine. (Im talking about the 2.2 turbo, the v8 is a little nicer since its closer, but its still a bi*** because its a v8 so its a lot bigger)

Fuel pump is easy...Took me 30 minutes(with rusted bolts) hardest part is jacking the car up....TO change it you'll need small rachet with phillips head bit and a deep 14 mm socket...thats it...

ya, ive seen one of those before. ive never seen an engine like that before

Any engine work on a 2g platform is miserable. I just got home from doing a hg, arp studs, cams, front cover/oil pump, timing belt, and pan gasket on my friends 95 gsx. I could have done the same on my 1g in half the time because there is so much more room under the hood.

I agree with Deadly Blaze. To many retarded people on the net. It's hard to tell if people are joking or if they are actually serious.

I thought the user was serious about the spark plugs also.:thumb:

I never want to have to remove the clutch pedal assembly again.

Surprised nobody said it but I hated doing the fuel filter. Getting the lines out of the bottom of that thing were a pain in the ass. Maybe mine was just really tight cause I could tell it hadn't been touched in 80,000 miles.

wow no one has said the door handle yet? Holy crap was that one of the worst things ever, i broke 2 in the process of install. If my door handle breaks off on my next dsm its going to be driven off a cliff, that was basically the start of its demise. After that the tranny went, then engine and then my turbo LOL. Oh yeah exhaust manifold sucked a whole lot of ass as well. Later.

I'd have to say replacing an alternator in those damn 420a 2.0L engines......

i must say the piston rings are the hardest part to change

I fear for my clutch assembly...i have a act 2600 with with a tranny that has 145k on it....hopefully it isnt a ticking time bomb or is it?

I haven't done it yet, but I hear that changing a complete rack & pinion in a 1gB AWD is pretty hard. Anyone have any tips for changing one? ....I'm gunna change mine in a lil bit.

the worst thing on my car is the stupid Dejon upper inter cooler pipe. taking the stupid bottom bolt off the throttle body closest to the engine off and on is a PITA. Dejon pipe owners know what im talking about.

You said it! It is actually impossible without removing the engine lift bracket on that end. But I have to say, taking the pedal assembly out of the car was no cakewalk either...

I didn't think doing the oil pan gasket was too bad, but I did it when I installed my clutch, since most of the stuff was off anyways. Only bad parts were the crazy amounts of rust I had to sand off, then respraying it and cleaning it up again.

I'm too late....but I agree. I've had to replace 1 passenger and 1 driver side and I'll agree, what a huge PITA.

I believe I would rather do a clutch job than replace that POS.

ya starters a breeze after youve done it like 50 times, i would have to say oil pan gasket, waterpump, timing belt, and last but not least front main oil seal(god i never wanna do that again):barf:

i have not done much... but from what I have so far... any thing that invovles wiring.
I find it very hard to route wires, and keep it done clean.
:(
eg. I have my oil pressure gauge to sending unint wiire going from the A Pillar, to under the steeringwheel, through the steering column rubber boot, underneath the oilpan to the oilfilter housing.

Using 1 Ziptie so it does not hang to low and get cought on something on the road.

PS. Never buy my car ;)

I'll tell you my new openion when I install the 889457348957parts sitting in my room LOL...god not looking forward to another clutch job and this time the flywheels going too.
