wait a sec...its a dark blue? like the electric blue??? it should be bby (blue by you) and that should be more like pastel light blue. The electric blue is on the 05+ models...just checking to make sure the car hasent been repainted or anything.

if I were you, I'd walk back into that dealership, get your money back, and never talk to any of them again. The salesman wasn't straight up with you, why would you want to trust anything that ANYONE says from there now?

my best advice? if you want an evo - buy an evo. my friend has very tastefully modded 03 that he loves driving and messing around in. it's basically his weekend car - driving a lexus is300 and scion xB during the week. you get what you pay for in the sheer fact that it is the car that you want.. the only tricky part is choosing the right one for the best price. that deal sounds aaalllright but there's always better ones.. if you continue haggling and can't get him down to a price you like - just tell the dealer you're working with that you're going to try somewhere else to buy one that's cheaper.

and have you tried any other dealers besides that one? what about private sellers? (there are definitely some evoviii owners that aren't teenagers - i make it a point to buy cars from responsible drivers.)

yeah, you could go for a c5 vette, ply GTO... or mod out your own 1G/2G... you could ditch the whole idea and buy an old mopar drop 10k into restoring and modifying it and have a clean and very quick classic car - faster than a lot of cars on the road, and will never lose its value. so my opinion? if you want an evo, and have money that you want to spend on an evo... look around for a better candidate a bit more. if there are no better deals in the vicinty in which you want to purchase a car - and that dealer offers you the best business agreement then just go ahead and buy it. just remember - no matter what car you buy, there will always be another car for a better deal.

i have both an evo and a modded dsm and i work on my own crap. its not just for tight-a$$es who cant do their own $hit. and an evo is definitely worth it. it'll take a lot of money just to get a DSM to handle and brake the way an evo does. i have just a Xede piggy-back FMU and a 3'' TBE and i raped a 18g equipped and built 2g awd 4 times by 1-1/2-2 cars.
but if you're looking into one i highly recommend getting a 05-06 model. they have a bigger turbo housing 10.5 cm vs. 9.8 cm and ACD. i got my 04 for 26.5k out the door w/ 18k miles on it.good luck. no matter what anyone says, they're worth it. just make sure its mechanically sound.

Anyway, IMO, I would be looking at the c5 Vettes, especially the Z06. Or save up a little more and just get a new Evo 9.

DSMs arent 20k either

USED w/6000 miles on it for $31,000.00 But it did come with the BR 330 Performance Package #004 This car, straight up, hauls @$$!!! Not one hint of lag and plenty of top end power.














I woudn't hesitate to own one!
