Okay now for the next problem, when i drive my car the turbo doesnt start spooling till around 6 grand. It's a ported and clipped big 16g from buschur. Also i have a lil bit of a idle surge, so far i blocked the egr, new plugs, wires, biss screw, cleaned throttle body, also put on stock fuel rail and fpr. Its not so much of a surging problem but it wants to almost stall when i let off the gas. Also seems like the rps dont drop quick enough when i shift. On low settings for my greddy profec b at like full boost im getting around 14 lbs and when i move the low boost setting to all the way down and all the way up its only changing by about 3 psi. My car was running very rich originally and i was thinking maybe clogged cat. I just need to get this thing spooling faster and higher boost. Also if anyone can help me out with the idle problem that would be great too.

Check your exhaust manifold gasket along with your Manifold to turbo gasket. If either one is leaking a substanial amount of exhaust it will cause this problem. Also make sure your vacuum lines to the wastegate acuator are not leaking or collapsing under vacuum pressure.

Does your car run smooth when you step on the throttle, or does it hessitate bad?

I had a problem that where my car would boost, but the rpms would crawl. I had to trouble shoot the Coil pack, power transistor, plugs, wires, injectors, and all to find that it was only a loose Knock sensor wire.

I would check your wireing on your ecu or anywhere else that has some black tap that doesn't look stock.

tighten all your mating surfaces down to stock specs with a torque wrench and get some code pulled from your car by AutoZone after that if things don't get better, they do it for free but you might have to wait a lil while there for them to do it.

Use a vacum test on your Wastgate to make sure it is functioning also. It might be letting by exhaust that is causing realy bad lag. I think mine isn't shutting all the way causing my turbo hit 14 psi later than it should.

About your slow build of boost, I had the same problem with my stock 14b, come to find out my flapper area in my exhaust turbine housing had a huge crack in it, not your usual cracks but a crack where you could see your finger through the other side. Once I replaced the turbine housing (of course I ported mine, upgraded to 2g manni and 2g O2 housing, ported of course) boost builds around 2000rpms now. I had always thought the 14b was a real weak turbo, but once I fixed the boost leak I feel different, not to say I am still not going to upgrade.
About your idle, a boost leak can cause irractic idleing.
As stated above, a boost leak test will show if any of your vacuum lines or gaskets are bad.
Good luck
Steve

I was wondering if you have fixed your problem? If so, what was it?
