does any 1 have the obx header 4-2-1...

does it give hp? ... does it make the car sound louder, better thanx.. is it worth buyin too ... thanx

OBX is taiwanese cheap shit, IMO. I've seen numerious amounts of these headers crack and not hold up, their shit. Maybe look into a GReddy header? Many of my friends squeezin 80+ shots nitrous use this header, and it seems to hold out. Their are many other companies that make good headers, just keep lookin around. AIM me if you have any questions on a specific header.

so the OBX coated header on ebay is crap??? i almost bought one just now. thank God for the "search" its only about 120 bucks cheaper than the HP racing one i wanted.

i think ill spend the extra 120 bucks and get the HP racing coated header off nopi.com. its about 300 or so shipped. is that a good one of should i go with Greddy???

I have never heard anything good, nor bad about that HP header. IMO, I would go with the GReddy header over any, just because I've seen their performance difference, and how well it can hold up over a long period of time. Like I said, a lot of my friends ride this header, and they love it. I would read up more on the HP header before purchasing.

I actually have the obx 4-1 header and it works great. Its the biggest performance gain I have recieved yet. I'm not sure how it will hold up in the future but I'm definitely happy. I don't know for sure but i think it has the same exact bends as the greddy header but Im sure the quality of the welds on the greddy header is better.

idk i think greddy is all bull shit... i have a greddy exhaust sp cat back...and i spent 500 when.. i could of got a obx for 100 and done cat back custom welding for 100 ....

I was actually told from two people, one is a mechanic and the other was a person i met at the track with a 12 second mustang, that the material doesn't really make a difference. It was during the time of me getting a catback exhaust and I wanted mandrel bent pipes because I heard they were the best so I asked around. The person with the 12 second mustang told me he guarantee's me im not pushing enough power to get the benefit of a mandrel bent pipe than a custom one at the exhaust shop. The mechanic at the exhaust shop said theirs barely any difference at all and to save your money for other mods.

Use your common sence man... Come on now.

Mandrel bent - Piping that keeps its diameter all the way through.

Crush bent - diameter changes at the bends (this is bad)

Big companies spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for mandrel bending machines, just because they dont do that much more than them smacking it with a nice big hammer. I mean shit, why don't you just go to hope depot and get some nice alluminum piping (since material doesnt matter) and a nice heavy hammer, and smack the shit out of it, have a nice zig zag crush bended pipe.

If your going to mod your car, do it the right way. Otherwise, you'll just see that you made a mistake and should have listened from the begninng. Material does matter, Under constant HIGH heat metal tends to crack, warp, disform from it's original shape. And I really can't believe your absorbing this information from a mustang man.

I'm not insulting you in any way man, nor being a smart ass (if I came off as one). I'm just telling you that it's better to do it right the first time, it's cheaper in the long run.

dont get pacesetter its trash i got a set for xmas and had to have a flexpipe and hangers added costing me $120 cuz the trash was shifting my N1 set up and my whole car was shaking!!!!! BTW i noticed no difference in sound but its easier to 135 now on the highway.
