I installed a nitrous system, and the wiring-throttle switch-and jet settings are good.
When I went to use it, it gave off an intake backfire. Everything seems okay and I checked it out for sensor problems and they are okay. But now I am trying to figure the problem out.
1. I know that when I floor it, there is a loss of power in small surges. Someone thought a fuel pressure problem.
2. Could there be a backfire with the fuel pressure problem? And what can I do to solve this?
3. The car runs strong at 3/4 throttle, and I was going to attempt to reposition the throttle switch to open at an earlier stage so I don't have to floor it. Can someone help before I do that crazy idea and try it?
Thanks!

Need alot more info... Dry or wet, brand, point of injection, etc...

Line from bottle to solenoids length is exactly 10'.
NX Solenoids.
NX Shark Nozzle 5 1/2" from throttle-body-butterfly for dry shot.
Using the NX jets: 34 NOS; 20 FUEL. Mixes at the intake tube.
Getting good spray from the nozzle.

I hope you can help! Anything else in info you need?
Thanks!

Where do you have the nozzle plumbed on the intake pipe?

Regards,

About 3" from the elbow to the throttle body.

There is the first part of your problem. You need to plumb the nozzle about 1" FROM the throttle body in the actual elbow itself. That far away and you are going to get fuel puddling which could very well be the cause of your backfire. Try moving the nozzle and see what it does.

No the NX system states to tap 2-6'' from tb.... I use a 75 shot and get mad backfire between 3-4 gear shifts.. Its normal !!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless your shifting at rev limiter.., that could cause it too. Every car I ran squeeze has had backfire issues between shifts.........OMG

Think about what you are saying. Read where Staged has his plumbed again before you tell me 'no.' He has it plumbed about 3 inches before the throttle body ELBOW, not the throttle body itself; meaning it's @ 7 inches from the actual throttle body. I've been using nitrous for quite some time, and have been exposed to many many many different setups on many many many different cars. Just trust me on this one. I've never had backfires on my shifts. There seems to be something wrong with your tooning.

Regards,

I will try the plumbing and see what happens. It felt like puddling, but I am not educated enough on NOS to know for sure. But you can tell that the fuel mixture is there, and causes a bit of hesitation without the NOS.
Will keep you posted on the results!:talon:

I must be lucky then because I never got any backfire whenI used nitrous. I don't believe backfire to be normal anyway. If it's backfiring then there is something worng witht he setup IMO.
