What kind of internals do you all prefer for top performance?
Cams: Crower, HKS, WEB
Valves: SuperTech, Ferrea, Crower
Valve Springs and Retainers
Connecting Rods: Crower, Eagle
Pistons and Rings
Crank: Stock vs Forged

Cams: HKS

Valves: Ferrea

Springs/Retainers: Crower

Rods Race: Eagle or Crower

Pistons Race: JE, Weisco (DEFINATELY NOT Venolia, Ross or Arias)

Pistons Street: Venolia or 2g

1g Rods will hold up to 500WHP, so unless you are planning to make more than that upgraded rods are just insurace. Buschur has used the eagle rod on engines that made up to 750HP and never had one break. The only rod he has had break (besides factory) is a Pauter...

2g pistons can hold up to 500hp also, only thing is, detonate on them once and you are through...Venolia are some nice high silicone content forged pistons (as are Ross and Arias). This means that they can be used in a street engine because they can run tighter piston/wall clearances for less slap and longer life. But because they do have silicone in them to make them as strong as a JE or Weisco they must have a lot more material...which means they are heavy...not good for high rpm usage. The JE/Weisco's on the other hand are super light, zero silicone, super strong pistons...but your machine shop has to know how to set up a block for forged zero silicone pistons so they won't slap.

Cam choice is a thread in itself...plain and simple, get HKS for $100 more and save yourself the headache of Cam Degreeing in the long run.

Here's what I had planned:
Cams: Crower Stage 2
Valves: Stainless Supertech
Valve Springs: Crower Valve Springs and Titanium Retainers
Connecting Rods: Crower
Pistons: JE (not sure what compression...was thinking 8.5:1 or 9:1) and
rings
Then I was going to try to find a place that sold forged crankshafts, but I haven't had any luck so far. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

#1 Crower's Cams suck compared to HKS's. #2 Don't skimp on stainless valves, if you want to save some money over Ferrera's get Crower's Valves.

#3...YOUR STOCK CRANK IS FORGED!!! It has put over 1100HP without flinching (Brent Ryu...960whp). Why would you want anything else? If you want to spend the money ($4000...50% deposit...6mo to build) Crower will build you any crank you want.

i got wiseco pistons and web cams street grind in mine... haven't finished putting her together yet :( and haven't messed with the vavles or springs (yet)

what you prefer is all exactly that, preference. It all depends on how much power you intend on making, how much boost you intend on running, how much of a daily driver the car is, if you intend on using nitrous. Etc etc etc..
