you cant drive the car after you take the transfer case off correct? from my understanding, you can dyno it, but you cant drive it. is this correct? thanks.

Whoa, wait. If you are dynoing the car with the transfer case removed (i.e. in FWD mode), you had better have removed the endcase of your tranmission, removed your stock VCU with a welded one or other suitable locking device. Otherwise, it will quickly become a doorstop.

With a VCE or a welded Center Diff you can dyno and drive the car in FWD mode...no problems. But why?

With a VCE, you still can't remove the transfer case; you will piss all the oil out of your transaxle onto the road.

Is this true? The shaft exiting the tranny that sends power to the transfer case is sealed. You should not loose any fluid from the tranny at all.

What a bunch of misinformation here. The t-case is a separate component, it's attached to the transmission by 5 bolts and it's driven by a transmission output shaft, and it's lubricated with it's own oil. You can drive without it as long as you have a welded center diff or welded coupling or VCE.

yep. i got it all finished up this morning. its weird having a FWD eclipse now. i lose traction all the way until i hit third gear. im going to take it to the dyno hopefully soon so i'll let you guys know the results in a week or less. thanks.
