I'm putting a L2R soon enough, my plans are first FMIC, injectors, 97+ bumper and headlights and then its day will come, my car will be a highway beast :D
Dayum, dude-- you just got the T-28 in a few weeks ago and you're already jonesin' for an L2R? So can i have the T28 then? :D

Heck, I will go as far as saying that 300hp car (mid 12’s on AWD) will not have much difference between those two systems. But I know that I am in minority with that opinion…
I love you man!:D

I am apparently in the same minority as you-- I firmly believe that there's little HP/timeslip difference between 2.5" mandrel and 3" until you hit 11s. I'm still waiting for someone to disprove that. Just call me the Amazing Kreskin of DSMs... (that's my official Dennis Miller "obscure reference of the day").

sorry, didnt see the year, my bad :)

even the injectors are the same?? How do you 2G guys upgrade to bigT28s or big 16g turbos and up the boost to 15 or more psi on the little injectors? Or are the 2G injectors all 450s?

I know, I know. I figured I can't afford another project car, so I'm not going for a 1g awd anymore, I'm gonna stick with this and make it faster. I already ordered s-afc, next step is going to be a FMIC, I'm thinking apexi right now, they sell it shipped for 950 with all the piping. I found one for 650 on ebay though :)

I was just expecting a good turbo for 12s (or at least faster than z28's and cobras) with that t28 and fmic, but I guess I was dreaming, there's no way that's gonna happend. So I'm thinking L2R right now, L1R might be good for 12s, but I know I'll just want something bigger so L2R is my best bet right now, it doesn't take that long to spool and the price is almost the same anyway. What really is going to hurt my pocket is injectors and external wastegate. I'm thinking after all done I can go ahead and get a shift kit, port my cylinder head and get a 1g intake manifold and tb. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the slicks, those will be necessary with such setup :D

By the way, do you got any of my tools ? When I went to wpb to see Agim I couldn't find the 22mm. We used adjustable wrench on his though, worked fine. He's got a leak now in the oil line, you should have seen that the damn thing wouldn't come off...

Sorry i don't have the answer ur looking for krott but i installed a turbo back 3 inch apexi n1 system(even though i heard that inside the can isn't 3 inch) and i noticed a significant difference. My car is basically stock engine wise, besides cam gears which wouldn't make a difference. So it is probably around 20 whp like candela said because i don't think i would notice as much difference as i did if it was only like 10 whp. But i also have a 1g though.

those dynos arent very accurate.... dont know what turbo mag. was thinking. There is a big thread on this about 2 months ago too =)

have to interupt just to tell candela how badass his car looks... its just pimp... looks badass...besides the fmic i dunno y but its just tight. maybe the blue....too cool man...

Thanks a lot man I appreciate that, your reall like the first one to tell me =)

I would think a 3" exhaust will be like the gift that keeps on giving, if you know what I mean :)

As you upgrade, intake, boost, turbo, injectors, fuel pump, fmic, piping, cams etc etc, it will allow them to work better, and respond even better.

I bet if you took a 400hp dsm turbo engine (550s, big16g cams fm etc etc) and put stock downpipe and catback you would see a drop of well over 20hp. Id say like 75 or more. That would be a neat idea for someone with a dyno, and all the parts.

Take one off at a time from a high hp motor, and see what each part is capable of.

intake pipe= X hp

2psi = Xhp

uic pipe =Xhp etc etc.

ya the 1g exhaust is restrictive ive heard that the stock downpipe has part where its 1 3/4 inch way to damn small

If you remove the cat will gain close to 25 horsepower. That is going by umport tuner's dyno.

Depends on the cat of course. Worst case would be a clogged up stock cat. Leaving that in a fully tuned engine would cause a HUGE loss of power. But putting a well designed, free flowing full 3" part would be a very small loss indeed.

Again, its all about balance...

Stock 90 TSI AWD with really crappy 1-2 and 2-3 gear synchros and slipping stock clutch, other than listed below:

3000gt fuel pump....190LPH?
3" muffler shop made press bent turbo back to a big ass APEXi- dumptruck sounding muffler
phantom boost gauge
K&N
Semi-gutted MAS
RETARDED BOOST CREEP UP TO SUSTAINED 18psi

yes, it's still a factory 14b with no boost controller and all vacuum lines in factory locations with zip ties on every rubber component termination.

end product equals repulsive death of following vehicles on NUMEROUS street race occasions.

Ferrari Testarossa
99Cobra?
02 Convertible Saleen Stang
C5's...too many to list
Many turbocharged Preludes, civics, integras, accords
WRX's..modified any..don't know
Camaro SS's
Trans Am's
Older Vettes
Gutted 350 Nova with bad rear end...supposedly?

I can drive a stick well and can drive this AWD well but some of these cars...notably the 99 Cobra which was stock except for K&N and flowmaster exhaust system....about 13-15 car lengths by the time i let off at about 6g in 4th gear....that's not a stomping...that's a "go home and commit suicide blue oval boy aaaaaassssss whooping. He has been praised as one of the best Mustang drivers in the area. He does 8.40's at the local 8th mile track in same car.

I hope that info helps the thread starter understand what "I" think the 3" damn sure helps the car do. 18lbs of BOOST CREEP AND 3"exhaust...basically all this car has done.

Thanks for the space people.

forgot to add my favorite part....

The race took place at a street light segment on outer perimeter of the city main road after i asked him if he wanted to play. He said yes and revved up a little....

After the instant testicle size reduction (on his part) he rolled window down at next light and asked what I had in there....i said "a 2.0L"
I'm quite sure he wanted to throw up about then.....i just turned right and went home feeling better about my ailing car.

Get the 3"....it can't cost much more than the others:thumb:

i dunno if anybody mentioned it but import tuners magazine had a dyno session with 97 gst. After takin off the cat the car gained 27 whp and exhaust added another 11 whp so full exhaust with no cat should add around 40 whp. Baseline in 4g63 is 165 whp and not 190. 40 whp sounds weird but thatz what they got. Seems like the cat is the biggest rectriction on our cars:p

The cat is always man's biggest hold-up.....

take it how you want to

So you basically have intake, exhaust, and a fuel pump, and you say you're beating Testarossas, Cobras, and Saleens? I won't officially throw the BS flag up (yet), but I'd have to see it to believe it. If it's true, it's exceedingly impressive.
