nice commercial! i esp. like the 96 GST Spyder 1,000,000th eclipse, as my 3rd DSM might be this 96 Spyder GST that i am gonna go look at this weekend

even mitsu knows how good a 1g launching looks. too bad they had to use an eclipse. the talons are just so much nicer. ROFL

Very true.
I had 3 cars so far, every of them Mitsubishi.
Next car I buy is going to be mitsu again :)

Happy 25 years :dsm:

mitsubishis something you'll grow up loving to hate...... still better than driving a honda or yota like everybody else..... the eclipse has always been a very different looking car :rocks: o yea and my tv is mitsubishi-starting to flake out after 15 years of fine operation :thumb:

caught some of it on tv last night, I think the 06 looked really good. Hope I don't get flamed for that. But I missed the 1g/2g parts

yeah the Evo X kinda killed the end,i better get a 9 now while there still new

I was flipping through channels and I thought I saw a 1g. Come to find out it was. At first I thought it was a show on them but it was only a commercial. At least they are proud of their past. :thumb:

Some part of the back of my mind is already starting to dream about a 1Ga re-issue. :thumb:

...hey, I can dream.

Hopefully they remember WHY the 1G and 2G's are important. In 1990 they were mentioned in the same breath as Isuzu, Daihatsu, and Suzuki. In 1999 they were breathing down Honda, Toyota, and Nissan's necks. Now they're in trouble, and it's because their biggest selling car is night-and-day different from it's heyday. The 1GNT's and 2GNT's sold well because they were some of the only cars that offered excellent fuel economy with the styling of a sports car, and the turbo models flew off lots because they were (and are) a world-class performer at an affordable price. Now, the Eclipse (with either powertrain) attempts to be practical and fast and fails miserably at both. The 2.4 is too big to attract those who want practicality and economy, and the V6 languishes in lots because enthusiasts don't want them and most poseurs just order a GS with rims and an appearance package.

hahahah the turbo models did NOT fly off the lots. In fact they had a hard time getting rid of the gsx. My sticker price on my car was 27,000. Thats a lot of money for 1998. They missed the big craze by about 2-3 years. If our cars had been out 2-3 years later they would have flown off the lots, but they were in the mid 90s in which NONE of these cars, supras, 3000gts, rx7s, flew off the lots.

Agreed. There is a reason why Mitsu doesnt make turbo eclipses anymore...
