NOPI is an all-encompassing, how-many-different-groups-can-we-cater-to-in-order-to-increase-sales corporation. The DSM Shootout is by DSM owners for DSM owners. I think there were something like 500 DSMers at the Shootout last year. How many cars will be showing at NOpi in Phoenix? How many of them will be DSMs?
The NOpi event draws ricers from all over Phoenix down to a corner to ogle mindless twats who get all up on kitted and chromed-out cars or get almost naked on stage while some random, hip-hop-lugnut "spits phat beatz." They charge you to show your car. They charge other people to view it. The DSM Shootout is all about the DSM community. We invade an entire town. Every hotel for 20 miles is sold out and full of DSMs. The local carwash has lines three deep for five stalls, all DSMs. There's three DSMs at every intersection. When you get home, you have a sunburn on your arms from having them out the window to wave at other DSMers.
To me, NOpi is putting on a show to entertain ricers from all walks of life, but the Shootout is a celebration of DSM and the 4G63. Four days of all the DSM you an handle. That is second to none.
You guys have fun. Mr. Cynic is going to try to put something else together for the local DSM community in the coming months that will be a good time. You'll see.

Hopefully the change in elevation will help me run some 11's.
Typically how fast are the cars that run in Power Street? I dont feel like running bracket in a 11 second car against a 14 second car, not fun.

Thanks for letting us know, John. We'll see you in Norwalk for sure.jshepherd said:Sorry guys, We will not be able to make it to the first race or two this year. We are making some major changes for this season and with running a business the car has to come second sometimes.
I am sure it will be a great time as always at a NOPI race and I encourage all to go and hang out and watch the pro cars set some new records.

Heh. This past Saturday, it rained all damn day long, Mark. As in constantly from before dawn until well after midnight Sunday morning. There was still snow on the tops of the mountains in the east valley as late as yesterday afternoon.NOPIMAN said:Rain in the Desert??????
