There are 4 or so DSM's that I know of coming down from Colorado.

Hopefully the change in elevation will help me run some 11's.

Typically how fast are the cars that run in Power Street? I dont feel like running bracket in a 11 second car against a 14 second car, not fun.

Hahahahahaha. You have no idea, man. NOpi is NOT the Shootout. It is nothing remotely like the Shootout.

NOPI is an all-encompassing, how-many-different-groups-can-we-cater-to-in-order-to-increase-sales corporation. The DSM Shootout is by DSM owners for DSM owners. I think there were something like 500 DSMers at the Shootout last year. How many cars will be showing at NOpi in Phoenix? How many of them will be DSMs?

The NOpi event draws ricers from all over Phoenix down to a corner to ogle mindless twats who get all up on kitted and chromed-out cars or get almost naked on stage while some random, hip-hop-lugnut "spits phat beatz." They charge you to show your car. They charge other people to view it. The DSM Shootout is all about the DSM community. We invade an entire town. Every hotel for 20 miles is sold out and full of DSMs. The local carwash has lines three deep for five stalls, all DSMs. There's three DSMs at every intersection. When you get home, you have a sunburn on your arms from having them out the window to wave at other DSMers.

To me, NOpi is putting on a show to entertain ricers from all walks of life, but the Shootout is a celebration of DSM and the 4G63. Four days of all the DSM you an handle. That is second to none.

You guys have fun. Mr. Cynic is going to try to put something else together for the local DSM community in the coming months that will be a good time. You'll see. :thumb:

I guess I won't fit the crowd of DSMers because I own a 4G64. I might as well hang out with the 3g club LOL

I agree that the DSM shootout is a great event, that obviously is a HUGE event for DSM owners. Make a new thread in the hangout on the DSM Shootout.

I gave my opinion on what happend last year and I thought it was a great event. Negative comments do not belong in this thread.

With that being said, I hope you all come out to NOPI and show Branden from holeshot performance some support. Shooting for 10's on a stock turbo 2g :rocks:

I haven't been able to reach him.......

You guys know what would be cool? If we found out when Shep was going to be getting to town, met him on the highway, and rolled into town with him. Just a thought.

Sorry guys, We will not be able to make it to the first race or two this year. We are making some major changes for this season and with running a business the car has to come second sometimes.

I am sure it will be a great time as always at a NOPI race and I encourage all to go and hang out and watch the pro cars set some new records.

Thanks for letting us know, John. We'll see you in Norwalk for sure. :thumb:

If it rains this weekend. Will the NOPI event be re scheduled? Inquiring minds want to know!

Rainouts are reschedule but being a weekend event, we usually get it in around some showers. It all depends on when the event is called for rain. If qualifying ladders are already done, the race could be run along with another event later in the year. If not, a reschedule of the entire event is usually what happens. There are many variables and scenarios so I'll just have to leave it at that for now.

Rain in the Desert??????

Who would have thought.

Heh. This past Saturday, it rained all damn day long, Mark. As in constantly from before dawn until well after midnight Sunday morning. There was still snow on the tops of the mountains in the east valley as late as yesterday afternoon.

Although, the chances of that happening again any time soon are slim.

Im out of this trip for shure now. Water pump is leaking and a new replacement from JNZ tunning arives untill next week on wednesday  . Better for it to break at home then on the road I guess.

Im in! We got the 2600 in the car yesterday! Hey SpoolingSpyder, brandon said that he had to be there about 3 hrs before it begins because he's running... Are you guys going later or how? I'd love to cruise down there with you guys.

If any of you saw the slick, blue-green 3G there that won 1st place in the car show, I'd just like to say that I spent Saturday morning detailing it for my buddy Will. We knew it would probably rain, but he wanted me to go ahead and detail it up anyways. It turned out really good, imo.

Just goes to show what $50 will buy you these days...

Well to bad it rained.
I guess they were able to run around 4pm?
I didnt want to drive in the snow so we took off at noon. There is 4 inches outside my door right now, so that was probably a good decision.

I qualified 3rd in Power Street with my worst launch of the day.... 1.951 60', [email protected]
To bad on the Nopi site I'm listed as Unknown and car type Unknown, didnt know it was that hard to read my tech card WTF Maybe I can get my name listed:thumb:
