That is just an overhaul kit. It includes the end clutch kit which is better than stock. The rest is just oem spec. If you take the tranny to a local tranny shop and have them build it you will be getting a stock transmission. You have to go to IPT if you want a race tranny. 400whp on an auto isnt the greatest on reliability if you ask me. I ve been there done that and im done with it. To handle that power your only choice is to spend like 3k with IPT and then you should be fine. But I couldnt spend that much so I just gave up and I got myself a manual now. Im not saying IPTs products are bulletproof or anything because I ordered there new and improved End clutch kit once and had it installed. Exactly a week later I
did one 25psi pull on the street and bang the end clutch failed. But IPT is our only option when it comes to auto dsms.

since u have a 97, the price for ## car would be $2975 just for the trans. depending on what converter u are going w/ 9 1/2 inch Billet Converter w/ Multi-Disk Lock-up Clutch add $1050. but if u want to go w/ the regular high stall, add $475.

the trans and the 9 1/2 converter will be $4025+ shipping. not including core.

the trans and the regular high stall converter will be $3450 +shipping not including core.

yea they are not cheap, but u get what u pay for. im going to go w/ the 1g trans w/ the high stall converter. im getting that within the next 2 pay periods!

Where did you hear this? The rebuild kit is not just an OEM kit. It's the same kit used in their built transmision. It has the five clutch front clutch pack, and the revised end clutch kit. Their built transmision do have a shift kit installed, some cryoed treated parts, upgraded servo, and a few other minor upgrades. If you install IPTs kit, and translab shift kit, and a upgraded cooler it should handle a good amount more power then stock.

How did you burn up your end clutch in a week? I rean high 11s, and very low 12s many times, and never burned a end clutch. The weakest link was always the front clutch pack that would wear out first. Do you do pulls with the overdrive button on?
