I just picked up a Brand New still in box 30GB Ipod Video from a buddy of mine a couple days ago for only $160, for you guys below me thats only about $138. Which is an amzing deal . All my buddies have them, from the nano to 60GB color photo, so i know how awesome they are and i've wanted one for a while. Ive been obsessed with it the past couple days. I only have 500 songs and pictures of my Spyder on it so far. Just thought i'd share with you guys.

i can listen to music on my computer. that's all i need. an occassional burned cd of my favorite cds for my car, but i don't see the necessity for everyone to have an iPod. Good deal though!

I have a Cowon iAudio and it rocks the iPod's house.

Mine was a present and Im actually surprised how much I use mine. I need a stereo in my car.

That's what I thought about the iPod too..just another trendy gadget. I see why everybody has them now, though..it's better than most of the mp3 players out there. They're so easy to navigate through it's crazy. Sure they're extremely overpriced, but if you can find one for cheap, I'd say go for it.

I listen to music on my computer also, as well i like burning music on cds for tunes in my car. It's not a necessity for everyone to have one, its the for the lack of a better word, 'handiness' of the ability to have all of your music and then some in the palm of your hand, plus its not bulky like a cd player. Everyone just has ipods because they are the best mp3 players out there at the moment, that holds an insane amount of things.

Yeah they are very expensive, thats why i just couldn't pass it up, plus i wanted one too, so it worked out well. They are easy to use, and the picture for video and photos are amazing. Now i can use it whenever i go rollerblading or in school or what have you. I sound like i work for apple and that was my pitch for it..

I've literally used mine every day since I bought it 2 years ago. I have my entire cd collection (plus what i've added through downloads) in the palm of my hand anywhere I go. I use it at home, at work, in my car, on the street. I use it as a hard drive to transfer huge files. It has more than paid for itself many times over IMO. Definitely not a waste of money. I conisider it one of the best purchases i've ever made.

How is it a waste of money?

Your ENTIRE music library in something the size of a cell phone. Plus backup files for your computer, files for school, pictures, contact lists, etc. This thing is so disgustingly useful it scares me. It goes with me everywhere- the gym, the car, etc. I have the setup in my car so I just plug it into a wire in my glovebox and control it through my head unit.

I mean crap- what is the average life of a CD in your car anymore? For most people I know, not long. Plus you go through and throw a few dozen CD's in your car and it looks a mess- and becomes a target for theives. My ipod I can throw in my pocket or on my belt and have a nice day.

Best 300 investment I've ever made.

i have an IPOD and use it everyday in my eclipse i Have a Pioneer CD player and i used the ip-bus interconnector to hook it directly from my ipod to my Aux channel it works awesome it is mounted nice and you can barely see any chord.

Looking at the prices of them though...1GB for $150 bucks..that sucks.

I have the nano 2gb. Pretty awesome little thing I only use it for when I workout and when I run, the damn music at the gym sucks and I cant get pumped up to lift.

I have the 60gb video, it sucks though because at 5000 my computer couldn't store anymore.
Do you guys know how to just add the NEW songs.Without having the old ones on the computer? and 138 bucks? damn

You have to add them through itunes, so no, but you can just delete them from your computer once you've added them to your ipod. I would back them up on a cd or dvd-rom first just in case you accidentally delete them from your ipod or something.. but that's me

that is a steal, I got my 60gb video for $400...and Quite frankly the devices are WAYY overrated...I've had my iPod freeze up on me 4 times in the month I've had it.

I have a 60 gig video one and i love it. I use it every day for the gym and i have it hardwired through my pioneer head unit. And of course i have every dsm video that i've been able to find saved on it as well.

Have you ever updated the software for it? I've had mine 2 years with no problems. Same for my girlfriend (only 1 year)

the 1.1 firmware update has issues with the 60gb, it ruins video playback for some people I'd rather not risk it until a new update comes out.

half my school has an ipod video, rich bastards i hate them all, haha.

the 60 gig ipod vid is $400.

I love my 60gb video iPod. It's so much nicer just having all my music and movies and videos in one place. THe main reason I got it was to store all my videos, but I love just putting it on shuffle and listening to all different types of music i got.

If you want something for just music, I wouldnt go with an iPod. Their sound quality isnt the greatest, but I really don't care for the BEST sound.
