I was just wondering if those with a Victory Performance FMIC on a 2g could chime in here. Since VPE website seems to have been down for a while, I figured I would ask here. First, the size of the street core. Any fitment issues or install problems? Anything about the kit you would think worth mentioning.I am very intersted in this kit. I have read the reviews and done the searches and I have't read anything bad. I just don't like the other kits where you have to cut the radiator support and the sharp 90 degree turn . I just can't get past that for some reason.

Thanks in advance

I have their "race" core and the install was pretty straight forward for a FMIC of that size. I didnt have to cut the radiator support, but some minor tweaking of the intercooler brackets was necessary for it not to hit the hood and be level. I had to significantly cut the plastic bumper support so basically its only purpose is to prevent the bumber from sagging. I also had to do significant trimming to the front facia to get the core to fit in. All in all it was a clean install, fit nicely, and wasn't terribly difficult.

I agree with your comment on the piping. The way they routed the piping to the intake has too many bends. Looking back I would of def prefered a kit that had a shouter route. The aluminum piping is a plus however. I don't know how many kits offer aluminum piping now, but it is super light and decipates heat very nicely (one could argue that it heats up just as nicely tho ;) )

I bought their street core used from a local and it is a decent size. The mounts look really solid, one wide plate at the bottom that attatches to the 2 bolts on the bottom of the car behind the radiator. Then there are two more brackets on top that hang on somewhere. Unfortunately, I have yet to install it, as I am going to install it with a new turbo in a month or two. Oh, and their kit isn't that complete, from what I hear. The pipes are for a down-flowing turbo so no j-pipe. And also, I've *heard* a couple of people talking about welds blowing. Hope it helps.

This isn't a huge deal but worth mentioning. Many of our customers were telling us they were not hooking up the top two brackets and that the mounting plate we had was rock solid so we did away with the top brackets all together going forward.

Check out our site or look at Daren P on this site. He has a picture.

I just recently got my kit form victory in the mail last week. the kit is awesome. fast turn around time. construction is top notch. also i had the same personal problem with getting a short route pipe kit.i'll take the little bit of extra piping to have a moreefficient i/c any day of the week.
