Have you seen the car? How's the body? How does it drive? It sounds nice, but realize that the 60k maintenance is right around the corner. I don't think I could justify paying that much for it, but that's me. Check and see what others are going for in the classifieds.

Get it man!!! I bought my car from Florida in October drove 700 miles for it. 1400 round trip. I waited four months to find the perfect one Black with tan leather:rocks:

Just think you get to start all over!! Wish I was in your shoes.

10k seems too much b\c yes the maintenaince.... clutch timing belt water pump all those goodies... 7k would be worth it

I got my 98 Talon with 54,213 miles for $7,750. GSXs have a higher value than Talons, I say $8500-$9000 but I'm sure there will be people willing to pay 10k for it since it is a stock car. Does the dealer have any receipts of any work or maintenance done? My car had a new stock clutch put in at 46xxx miles.

make a lower offer, maybe $8500, and see what happens. Any used car on a dealer's lot is going to be stickered for much more than they need to get for it to make $.

I'd get it. It sounds good, just double check everything before you buy it, like Carfax, vehicle reports, you know, basic things. I'd get a diagnostics check if i were you. Just to be safe, and its better than being sorry later on. :talon:

Don't wanna jack the thread but it seems like the creator got his answer's.

I wanted to know your opnions on the car i'm in the middle of buying, i just put the deposit down.

97 gst
55k miles
silver w/ carbon fiber hood
Blitz body kit, so the car's paint is almost brand new.
all leather
moonroof
Not sure what kind these are, but he stated the rims / tire / exasust / intake is all upgraded.

Paying 8900 for it.

sound like a decent deal?

You could, just get it checked out as I said before. :talon:

My advice would be to look up the Kelley Blue Book value and offer them less than that. Print out the sheet stating the cars value and take it with you when you put in the offer. It's not often that a good dealership will deny blue book value.

I Dont know how prices are in morrsiville, but living 5 minutes outside of DC I got my car a 98 GSX with 58k miles bone stock for 10,500 and that was a STEAL!!! I spent a year and EVERY GSX with less than 90k miles was 13-19 grand. Yes, 19 grand.....

It's all in what your willing to pay for what you want and what condition the car is in. If it's in really good shape and you want it bad enough you'll pay for it. IMHO, if I ran across it and liked the color and it was in really good condition, I'd buy it. Just to give you an idea, I payed $14,000 for my 99 Black GSX 3 months ago with 54,000 original miles, completely unmodded, brand new paint job, black leather, car is in perfect shape, brand new tires, all 60k mainentance done. Yes, a little over over book (was $13k book at the time) but to me it was worth that money and a 7 hour drive both ways to get the exact one I wanted.

id say get it, so you dont have to worry about things going wrong for a while

If they have not yet done the 60k service yet, I would offer them somewhere between 8500-9000. If you do end up buying it, that should be the first thing you get done(if it hasn't already been done by the dealer obviously)

For a stock GSX (unmolested) with 59K miles, yeah, it'd be worth it for me. I could live with the maintenance. I do my own work.
I agree. No more than a day taking your time.

I would if I could

I bought mine w/ 45K and its 51k now and no problems. But you never know if you engine will walk. If i could do it over I would have bought a highmileage so that I could just do a 6bolt swap and not have to worry about it.

I agree with this. If you plan on sticking with the 7 bolt then it sounds like a good deal to jump on. But if you plan on putting a 6 bolt im anytime soon, then you might be better off getting a higher mileage car for cheaper.

How much do you think i can get for a black 92 talon tsi awd black on black with 99,000 miles with a 6 bolt 4 bolt and a jdm trans. bone stock. Just changed oil and antifreeze. idles like a dream no surges or anything and shifts fine. The paint is probably the best ive ever seen on a dsm.How much?

Depends who wants it, how much do you want for it. I would say ask about a grand more than you want for it. Ask $3500 AND TAKE $2750.. ?? there are too many of these threads.:boring:

I second that man. There's way too many variables to take into consideration. My $100 may equal your $200. I'd pay no more than $3,500 for it.
