Would I need to get an EVO III o2 housing as well to run this manifold or will it bolt up to the stock 2g o2?

And another question: I've heard about 1g manifolds cracking but did anyone hear about the 2g manifolds cracking? How about the Evo III manifold, does it have a tendency to crack?

Here's the before with the new 7cm gasket sitting on top...

And here's the after. I could have gone a little further to smooth it out but I don't think its going to hurt anything the way it is...

And here's everything put back together...

I would agree on just getting an SBR manifold or pick up a 2g manifold and port it the way you want it. It's probably cheaper going the 2g route if cost is a factor.

I'm not going to port my 2g manifold. I'm looking for something that flows better AND can be ported if desired.

The reason I don't want a SBR manifold is the fact that it costs twice as much as the EVO III manifold. I don't know about you but I'd rather pay $150 for the EVO III manifold and spend the other $150 alsewhere.

Thx for the pics Bestwestranger. Pics make decisions easier :D .

Yes, but the SBR isn't ported and it is already bigger then the EVO3 exhaust mani. Once you port SBR it will be even larger then the evo3. :thumb: :thumb:

But the pics and review Bestwestranger looked pretty good. I will still pick SBR over EVO3.

After getting a chance to drive it more today, the butt dyno is telling me I've lost some of the top end power that I had with the tubular header. Maybe not alot, but enough to be noticable. However, I would trade power for reliability any day. I'm so sick of welding on that pos that I could :barf:

the evoIII exhaust manifold is a step up from the 2g manny, but its no SBR Cast.

you could port out the evoIII manifold, and it would match up with the SBR unported, and with the sbr, you can port even more shit since theres more material.

and the evoIII and SBR change the angle of the turbo by 1.5* outward. while that doesnt sound like much, it allows you to run larger snails without denting the water pipe, and still having room for the fans(though with my sbr, i had trouble with the j-pipe). just food for thought.

Turbocharger.com's is the Evo GT. There has been no quality problems with them has there? I searched and couldn't find anything.

I have SBR's first design manifold. I love the thing, its huge compaired to stock 1st gen and its casted to be larger than the evo 3 manifold. Only thing i did was smothen out the casting blemishes. No need to port the thing, it was big from the start.

I highly suggest the SBR manifold. Although i dont like the new design, with the ugly external mount sitting there, i run my external off the o2 housing, looks smoother.
