Would I need to get an EVO III o2 housing as well to run this manifold or will it bolt up to the stock 2g o2?

And another question: I've heard about 1g manifolds cracking but did anyone hear about the 2g manifolds cracking? How about the Evo III manifold, does it have a tendency to crack?

"Would I need to get an EVO III o2 housing as well to run this manifold or will it bolt up to the stock 2g o2?"

The manifold doesn't bolt to the 02 housing!!! 2gen and evo 3 could crack, they won't crack as easy as a 1 gen

whops, sorry I meant to say something alse. If I was to get an EVO III o2 housing which downpipe would I have to get since I'm pretty sure my current one (3") won't bolt up to it.

And another question, can I put my 2g heatshield onto the EVO 3 manifold or will it not fit?

You can bolt it to the stock o2 housing. It is recommended to change to the evoIII o2 housing because the much better flow.

1g Manifolds crack period

2g manifolds crack less because they have thicker walls

evoIII manifolds....hmmm...never heard of these cracking actually LOL.

The Evo3 O2 housing has a slightly different angle than the stock 2G O2 housing. It bends the downpipe slightly. It also has a slightly different bolt pattern than the stock housing. Nothing major, but it is an annoyance. RRE sells downpipes that have the correct bolt pattern and angle.

ok thx for the info. :thumb:

But how about the exhaust shield question? Will I be able to use my 2g shield with the Evo III? I'm guessing Yes but I just want to make sure.

Yes you can use your stock heat shields. They exhaust manifold is a direct bolt on. From the outside it looks like the stock one actually. Anyway I hope you get your little project together and good luck LOL. One thing, use new gaskets, don't reuse these gaskets unless you want a leak. Now people probably are like thats obivous, well than why do people still do it? Unless you want to hear an annoying tapping noise change the gaskets.

I'll change all gaskets of course. I originally planned on simply getting a 2g ported manifold but then I've realized that I'll need to replace all the gaskets as well and probably will need a couple extra bolts just in case. That's why I want to get an EVO III manifold which comes will all new gaskets and bolts, it just makes things easier.

But here's another question:
Which flows better? Ported 2g or unported EVO III manifold?

Evo 3 its larger than the 2nd gen. Port the evo 3 and you have even more flow!

The 2G Manifold and EVO manifold are identical, except for the outlet hole diameter. Once both are ported to a 7cm gasket, they're identical. If you don't believe me, I'll go out to the garage and take pics of both and see if you can tell the difference. As for cracking, the EVO turbine housings do use a higher nickel content, not sure if the manifolds do as well.

I've trapped 126 on my 20g with a ported 2G manifold. Unless you get a great deal on the EVO, the 2G will work fine. :thumb:

Well what about like the evo 3 manifolds that turbochargers.com sells for 145. Are they true evo manifolds or other manifold made with the same dimensions? Because i was planning to buy one over porting my manifold because they come with gaskets etc and in the end it wouldn't be much of a price difference.

Is turbochargers.com's EVO manifold the real deal? It says 145 shipped on the site for an evo3 manifold. Anyone buy it? Or know anything about it?

Is this the real deal or just a cheap knock-off. Can anybody help me out? I need an evo III manifold and was thinking of getting this one but I heard people claiming that they're junk.

I've heard that they make the turbo stick out more, is that true? Can anybody give some info on this manifold ###.

I picked it up from UPS today. It looks to be a good quality piece. However, though the ad on ebay says ported, it is not. Their version has a big 7cm outlet, but it was made that way, not ported to that size. It did come with new hardware and good gaskets.

You can see how much material I'm going to have to remove to have the ports match up with the gasket...the black is paint, and the silver around the ports is what I scraped off after laying the gasket on top of it.

Hopefully I will have everything ported and ready to assemble tommorow. I'm also going to have to pull the exhaust housing off my 14b and port it to match the 7cm outlet on the manifold. I'm gonna be really busy this weekend...good thing I have Monday off too...LOL

I really enjoy mine! The only had two problems when I installed mine. The first was that I had to grind a little bit of the right side of it to get it to go past the power-steering pump bracket.

The second problem was that it ended up moving the turbocharger about 2mm to the left. I tried to bend the stock oil-feed line back into place but only ended up de-threading the head when I tried to put the banjo-bolt in. Do yourself a huge favor and order the Turbochargers.com SS oil-feed line, for only $45, how can ya go wrong?

Hope this helped!

I havent heard of this manifold, but why dont you go with SBR's cast manifold really great product and excellent quality. :thumb:

Well I got it on pretty much hassle free. I'm pretty happy with it now that I got it ported out. I'll post pics as soon as I can find a better host for them... :barf: All in all I would say its a good deal and a quality part. It looks alot like the stock one so if you didn't know, you wouldn't. :thumb:

So here it is after I ported it out. I didn't do the "full race" port, just a port match and some cleaning up in the runners.

I'll have some of the turbo housing's "before and after" soon...
