1st question. I have to buy a new battery and i was wondering if there was a recommended brand that i should go with. I live in Wisconsin so the days are cold and the nights are even colder. burrr its cold out ssside!!!

OK my 2nd question is that I have some rust on my right side strut tower(looking out while in the car). Is there a certain process I should go by when cutting this out and replacing this piece? the rust piece its self is about 1 1/2" tall and 4" long. that is the only rust on the car. I will try and get some pictures asap if that would help. To cut the rust piece out we would be using a plasma cutter. To install the new piece on the strut tower we will probably be using a plasma welder @ school so i do have some what of a pro following me over my shoulder. Or not don't know some times LOL. Is there a certain type of metal to use that would make the strut tower stronger and less likely to rust again. there are no signs of this problem on the other strut towers.

thanks

Well I got a durlast gold pos. It starts on the cold days perfectly, but it also leaks acid like that's its job.

I chose the Optima Red Top. It uses spiral cell technology and comes with a 3 year warranty. Everytime I leave my lights on by accidnt, my car still starts right up. Charges very quick too.. :thumb:

Optima red top...I never once had a problem with the one I had on my old gs. I plan on picking one up for the gst sometime soon.

I still have my goodyear battery cause the idiots forgot to punch out the date codes for warranty puposes so when it goes out on me I will just punch in the current dates, tell them I just moved and don't have the receit and they will have to replace it.

Sorry can't answer the first second question, and not without pics. But i have the optima yellow top battery. it powers the subs and everything else without fail. And my yellow top has neither died on me either. So it depends, what kind of battery do you want/need?

The red top is used mainly for cold crank amps which means that no matter what the weather is it will still turn over.
Where the yellow top is not rated at so many cca's as the red top, it has more power memory cells to power all of your little gadgets.
However prices for an optima all change on size and color (red/yellow/blue) But i got mine for about $119.
