Alright, Im 18 and Ive always really wanted a handgun, Ive had a few rifles and I think it would be really fun to get good with a handgun too. However as most people know you gotta be 21 to buy one. Now I know that one of those Black powder cap and ball pistols are considered to be antiques because of their firing mechanism according to what I researched on a few NH gun law sites. It also said that because it is classified as an antique it is exempt from all above regulations. Does this also include you haveing to be 21 to own and transport it around? Why the hell do so many of these sites leave things so vague? You can buy all sorts of kits to build them for very cheap and even kits for those old cap and ball revolvers. Anyways can somebody clarify things for me? I cant find an answer to this anywhere.

why would you even want to carry one of those around

Not to carry around, thats a sure way to get in trouble just to shoot with for fun.
