my clutch master cylinder recently went bad and the one i got to replace it was not from the dealer. After the install and bleeding the system i still couldn't get the car in any gear while it was on and the pedal return was very slow. i then replaced the slave cylinder to see if that helped since my 97 gst has 120,000. it only made the pedal even softer(i have an act 2600 installed) and then no pedal return at all, i was wondering what else could be wrong, clutch lines, or faulty new master cylinder and what makes the pedal return?, i'm assuming its the master cylinder, any help would be appreciated

i don't think its air cause we have bled the system many times being careful so no air gets in, and everytime we bleed, there is only fluid coming out, im going to get a new master and slave cylinder from the dealer near me and see what happens, its the only thing it can be because we checked the lines and no leaks there and we can manually disengage the clutch, so im gonna try that and see what happens but thanks for the response

try to adjust the the pedal throw. its under dash at the top of the pedal, you have to take out a cotter pin looking clip and then a rod. it will sild down and turn it to make it longer. then put it back together.....this is what i had to do lastnight to get my 2600 to disengage.

i took the generic master cylinder back and got one from a dealer, it works fine now, the adjustment rod on the generic one was shorter then the stock one because even with the pedal adjustment all the way out it didn't work, but its fixed now, thanks
