I've always wondered how someone could commit suicide or kill someone. Well I think I fully understand now, not literally; but I can see the ease of doing so now...

Well last night I left dinner with my partents cuz I had to drop off food coloring for my cousing at her house. About 7 and that means its pitch black so I'm going down the road minding my own buisness, not another car on the road except for one that blinded me with highbeams. As I give it gas I can feel/hear a vibration of some sort, it only seems to be in second but you can sort of feel it at other rpms as well. I thought my mind was just playing games but my "belt sqeak started to accompany it...so I figured I better drop off this crap and get the F home because something isn't right, when all of a sudden this car comes Flying up on me.

....Fuuuuuuuuuuuu*K, I pretty much knew what it was....whoop, whooooop!

....so I pull over and gets my crap asks me how fast I was going and I honestly had no Idea, I don't really pay attention unless there's people/cars around. Well it ended up being 78.6mph in a 40 zone. After restraing myself from a self induced head blow to the steering wheel, I sat in silence took the ticket and he instructed me to plead "not guilty."

In this time I had made a sort of "non-talkative" call to my parents informing them of my F'ing stupid F up like usual! :(

This is really not what I need:
#1. I commute to school
#2. I already had like 4pts. from a year or so ago...
#3. The speed I was going I can loose my license as it is.
#4. I'm already a dumbass I didn't need something to assure myself of it
#5. The story isn't over.... :|

So after I drop off the crap, I get on the highway, about a half mile after that I throw the PS, Water Pump, Alternator belt. No big deal it's happend before, Shut the car off periodically and keep the temp. gauge reasonable. It crept towards H, shut the car off and stayed a tad above normal. Another 2-3 miles later I get off the highway, my house is less than a mile away now, but it's up a hill...so I stop at a pull off at the bottom of my road.

First thing I notice, there's more than F'ing steam here! It was lingering, not disscipating like overheating would. So I get out, look at the side of the car, "why do my rear rims look wet? It wasn't wet anywhere besides a few puddles...I stick my finger in the wheel well and....It's oil! WTF

So at this point I'm starting to think that the telephone pole a few miles back looked pretty darn good...but I call my dad to get down and see if he can help. He's like alright. In the meantime I pop the hood and it looks like someone was shot in the head...

Still No clue what happened as it's been dark since it occurred and I had to leave for school this morning...I just don't even want to do anything now, it was bad enough and Now this SH*T! Whatever it's my fault half of it happened so that just makes me feel that much better,
Like the cop would've cared if I was speeding to save my car anyways, guess I'll see what happens when I plead, I'm going to have to try Not Guilty even though to me it makes no sense; but if I don't, there goes my license and in turn school and in turn F all this :sosad:

But that's how "awesome :toobad: " my life is at this point just figured I'd share.... :coy:

ouch, tough break man, i hope you get your car figured out/fixed.... as for the speeding ticket,i have been there too, i was doing 77 in a 55 one night, not even watching, then i see a car kinda slowly moving on the shoulder of the other lane, and the second i get past him, he throws the lights on, so i slow down and yeah, gave me a $105 fine...this was a while ago... now i just play it easy, but yeah, i hope the car is an easy/not so expensive fix, i am sure money wise you are like me anyways, so i can kind of relate to your problem.

Don't make a serious deal about it, even though it probably is. Just concentrate on school, don't let it slip away, I'm sure your parents are nice enough to help you out with commuting there. Don't worry about the ticket, usually if you plead not guilty, and explain the judge your situation, they will adjust the fine and points accordingly as so you don't lose your license, just be nice to them. And I know how you feel about the car, my motor went and my flywheel, and clutch exploded on the same day, I made it alright, and I'm a poor college student, just take things one thing at a time, and try and make the best of it. :thumb:

Good luck, kid. Typically, going faster is not the thing to do when you suspect something wrong with your car, especially when you suspect something wrong with the engine. :nono:

Hopefully, it's been a while since your last ticket. I would try calling the DA before the court date and be humble when explaining that you understand your speeding was foolish, but you were trying to diagnose a noise you had started hearing on the way home. Tell him you were trying to see if it was engine speed or road speed-related. Explain that, when you got home, something was seriously wrong with the engine in your car and now it looks like the engine is gone and you really need to be able to drive to and from school. You won't get away with that shit in the courtroom, as the judge knows everyone after you will be using the same story if it works. (Plus, he's probably already heard it a million times.)

Being both humble and proactive about things is your best bet. No guarantee either way, but you never know until you try. Good luck.

EDIT:
For the record, this is nowhere near being the type of thing you should even consider taking yourself out over. Take it from somone who, in the last year, found himself undoing his seatbelt while pointing the DSM at a bridge support doing better than 120mph in the interest of "doing this right." There is nothing and no one worth taking that path. Keep your head up and learn from your mistakes. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

You'l be really lucky if the reason the cop instructed you on pleading not guilty, is because he doesn't plan on beign there, or doesn't plan on turning in a statement. All you can do is hope though, money might be a problem, but if your that worried, higher a lawyer for about 200-350 bucks. It was well worth it to me, Both my tickets were knocked out in less than 5mins, and both of them I didn't even have to show up. I planned on it, but a traffic accident left me 10min late to one of my court dates, by the time I was walking in the door, my lawyer was walking out with a dimissed paper in his hands.

Talk to the prosecutor IN PERSON and there's a good chance he'll downgrade the ticket to a 2 pt'er or less. Show him pictures of your car along with an estimate <- especially important IMO) for the repairs and tell your story.

A defensive driver's class (at least in NJ) takes 3 pts off your license.

Motor Vehicle dept allows some people with suspended licenses to drive for the purpose of getting to work or school so IF your license is taken look into it but I doubt you're going to lose it based on the afore mentioned options you'll be looking into.

Take a deep breath and remember that we're all DUMBASSES from time to time. Don't let it get you down too much -- it's not your fault Mitsu F'ed up our cars and sold them with crappy reliabilty issues or that some cops give out tickets because that's the only way they're able to feel good about themselves for like 2 minutes while they're writing them. F mitsu and F ticket writng cops! Don't let them bring you down. Hang in there because everthing WILL get straightend out for you :thumb:

That's some really ignorant shit, right there. As if Mitsubishi has anything to do with your fourteen year old car breaking down or the police actually make you break the law. That's the sort of comment that gets threads like these shut down.

Don't be a dumbshit.

Thanks for the support guys, I do appreciate it :thumb:

Upon investigation, the vibration I was feeling must have been related to the belt about to go because I didn't really feel it after it broke.

The good news is that it isn't blown, I have no clue what happened but heres the only logical explanation I can come up with at the moment:
1. I threw the water pump belt, increasing water pressure, this has happened before so all the connections are probably pretty stresses.
2. I lost ~4qts. of oil I found when filling it with fluids; My antifreeze line into the turbo was blown off I found when filling it up, so I put it on and filled it up.
3. Engine started and ran normal, no leaking fluid... OMG
4. So here's my guess,
The coolant line going into the turbo blows because of the water pressure
The turbo cooks the oil inside of it because it's no longer cooled
Blocks the oil so it backs up in the engine and up into the valve cover
I don't have a filter on the valve cover where the breather hose used to go into the intake...I just have the hose hanging there, so I think that the oil was blown out of this hose and the oil filler cap.
Everything seems to be fine but at idle, not warmed up though my oil pressure is 3/4 of the way up, I cant remember what it was when it was cold but I know once warmed up it sits at around 1/4 of the way up. So the increase oil pressure seems to be further backing my story... Maybe?

However the ticket is still an issue...I told myself after the last one that I need to stop. Well after a year that fear of getting another ticket lost me, no matter how "safe" I say it is/was it's no excuse; even though I was trying to diagnose a problem... :coy:
My only hope is in court now...I guess I'll see what happens, if I loose my license or my insurance goes up, I might as well pull out the "glass sharded Dildo :notgood: :barf: "

honestly, suicide is a ####ing stupid out for any situation. if you really are considering suicide, you need to stop feeling so ####ing sorry for yourself and realize that life isnt a bag of candy, nor is it a walk in the clouds. do something proactive instead of dwelling on the bad. what a selfish ####ing plan. i can guarantee you that there are TONS of people out there that have been in a worse situation(s) than you, by LEAPS and BOUNDS. and they never considering offing themselves, they actually worked through the situation.

Woah there buddy you really need to chill out, im sure you've been so mad at somebody before you said you were going to kill them, but you didnt actually mean that did you? That is how he is using that statment here. READ the first few sentences of his post, HE DIDN'T MEAN LITERALLY.

YOU really need to relax a little and read the entire post before you say someting like this again.

:notgood:

Just for the record I never considered suicide, I'd never be able to do it, not even in a car. The situation I'm faced with sucks though and that's it basically. I need to just shut the F*ck up and deal with it. I'm great with hands on situations where you're given a task or you teach yourself or you learn one on one...that's not happening I need to learn how to until I at least get out of college.
In other words I want to work with cars now! Not in four years but again I'm rambling.. :boring:

Thanks :) :thumb:

You know before this I felt an attachment to this site but you know this place is actually like a family to me. I mean not everyone on here but for the most part it is, I don't know what I'd do without this place. Probably in alot more trouble and alot less done to my car... :nono:

or maybe people should read it and reconsider the thought of suicide. i have a lot of personal attachment to issues like that, as i've seen a lot of friends and family in my life who have resorted to such a thing. even talking about it is a red flag in most people's eyes. he may not have meant it literally, but regardless, there is no point in even considering it. Maybe i jumped the gun a bit, but i get freaked out when people bring it up period. suicide is stupid, period. its stupid to talk about, it's stupid to justify, its stupid stupid stupid.

and for reference, i did read his entire post. and i may have been harsher than i had intended, but i don't like to hear people talk about suicide. it was moreso a general message than directed towards him.

also for reference, the only times i've ever been so mad to SAY i'd kill someone, i meant it.

Watch that hose dangling from the valve cover spitting oil because I strongly suspect that is what caused my engine fire :notgood:

AND 4 pts for careless?? In NJ it's only 2 :tease:

So can anyone else validate this...Is the hose the source of my oil spewing? I lost ~4qts. of oil somehow...if it somehow did back up in the valvecover...could it have been due to my original thoughts in post #8?

Was your dipstick loose when you pulled over? My engine looked exactly like that last time the dipstick blew out.

No, that's what I thought at first when I popped the hood. The dipstick was in, and tight...the oil filler cap was on and tight. I mean since the engine is still good, the only thing that seems to be left is the valve cover breather, but I just don't know how so much oil could've backed up in the valve cover.

Check the intercooler pipe? Although that would usually cause smoke in the exhaust. That's weird: almost all the oil just disappeared. At least the engine is still relatively good. You'll get it all sorted out.

:coy: It didn't just disappear though...It just "placed" itself all over my engine bay, completely over the underbody of the car and all over my rims (Flat Black + Oil = Glossy Black, just in case you didn't know :thumb: )

It had to be under some pressure when it blew out of wherever it did...could I have fried the turbo?
Oil beign cooked inside caused a blockage which backed oil up into the valve cover and then out the breather hose which I have just dangling at the moment.
All cause because my water coolant line into the turbo blew because of it starting to overheat? I wasn't driving it hard enough to be at max temps. could it have been that hot to cook oil without coolant even though the oil was still flowing?
My oil pressure was 3/4 of the way up when we started it the other day but it wasn't warmed up. I can't remember what it was during warm up, but I know at operating temp. it is only about 1/4 of the way on the pressure gauge...could this further back my guess of oil cooked in the turbo, causing higher pressure?
 I'm confused on this one...
