check your pm's

On a side note, this is what i dont understand. My roomates srt4 stage3 on race gas with 370whp runs 11.7's at 120mph on slicks. Yet it takes a dsm with 501whp to run 12.0s at 119mph? I dont understand this, is there something magical about the power curve in the srt4, the torque, the gearing?

Or was mopar right all along about peak numbers only being 1/2 the game, and that their kit makes the car quick, not just fast

Im interested in your slicks

I ran 12.0 @ 119 way before the 500 whp tune. with a blown headgasket pushing lots of coolant i went 12.0 @ 125. i just never had enough passes to learn how to drive, when i trapped 125 i was trying to shift at 9k and it just wouldn't go in gear which killed my et. it had the setup to go low 11s easily

oh, well thats cool then...

hey, check your pm's about your slicks...im interested

The 13.3 isnt on 260hp, its more like ~350whp. I just havent updated it lately. But the car has alot more in it i was pulled 2.4 60fts which is horrible and I wasnt able to practice much cause they wouldnt let me run faster then 13.5

I'm here, and fwd. But up until recently I was stuck on the 14b. I'm looking for low 13's out of the new tdo5 18g. We'll just have to wait and see what it's capable of though on street tires and pump gas.

So lets set a date for Sac raceway for us to meet up at and do some FWD runs, LOL

Sometimes late sep. Friday night test-tune seems to be the best option for us, they have one on the 23rd.

My tranny should be done by then and I'll bring my drag radials. I'd love to dip into the 12's on drag radials. Thats my goal now.

Lets get something going.

I am ditching the 60 trim and throwing on a gt35r this weekend(hopefully). I got a good deal on a brand new one from a friend. I got it for $950. I should have some power, but we'll see if I can get it to the ground.

gt35 is awefully large, you probably need a stroker for it

gt30 i think is the perfect turbo for a 2.0L, as has been proven by the FP 3052/65 line of turbos

For me, personally, i think 400whp is the most you can ever use on a fwd, after that, its about setup, traction and technique

There is no reason a 400whp fwd shouldn't be able to run 11's

wow you guys are fast and what good goals haha my goal is just get into the 12's with no nos

im so close ooo and about the 11's take a look a project good will i think they are almost in the 10s still on a 14b

The turbo isn't going to be much laggier than the 60 trim I had since they both have the same exhaust housing. It should be spooled by 5000 without nitrous. I am not ev going to install the nitrous until I get it running good first.

Most FWD dsm’s are set up like crap. They spin a single front tire and don’t go straight off the line. You’ve got to go straight before you go fast.

Not fast but I went 12.9 at 114 with a jacked to hell and back alignment. My front tires actually had positive camber. My toe was also half an inch off! Under acceleration I had to counter steer allmost a quarter turn of the wheel. That is not efficient at all! I should be looking at 2.0 sixties on street rubber. Instead I'm looking at 2.2's, so I have 3 or 4 tenths of the ET wrapped up their. An equavilent AWD will go 3 or 4 tenths faster yet.

13.3 @ 111.7 the other night on pump gas. Track was uber slick, best 60' was a 2.215 on 22psi in the tires which is way too little I found out. :nono:

any updates?

was going to go this past saturday but the local camaro club rented it out and even though I am friends with a majority of the participating members of the board, there was af ucking hoopla when other people found out that a "ricer" was going to be running that night so I was not alowed to participate in the event. I think they just didn't want to loose to a 4 banger but whatever.

dude you woulda raped 99% of those camaros if you went...i rarely see fast camaros and mustangs anymore

Hopefully, I'll be able to break into the 12s soon, albeit, high 12s. First and only time at the track was last year, to which I only managed a 13.24, w/ the highest trap at 112.xx mph. This was done on 93 octane, no launch, and 18 inch wheels w/ crappy tires. With this year's upcoming track meet, I'm coming back w/ at least 25 more whp, w/ lighter 15" wheels on some bfgoodrich drag radials (# 2 series), and methanol injection. Wish I had an LSD, so that I could run real slicks, maybe next year. If after the first 4 runs and I don't manage to break into the 12s, I'll put in some race gas for the first time. Just to see how the spyder likes it. 12s or bust damnit!

Fwd is mostly about driving skills, suspension, weight and traction...No need to have an ass load of HP. In a fwd it can hurt more than it helps. Just my .02

I can pull off 1.6 60's all day with slicks on my fwd. I actually prefer that car over my awd. Maybe its the challenge.LOL

Trying to keep that damn big16(non evo)no nos record....

i guess there was actually a couple of really reall really fast mustangs out there but the chevy boys just got demolished pretty much. Which is good the club is just a bunch of elitist bench racing ####s who think anything without 8 cylynders is stupid. One girl with a stock 99 z28 was telling me she would "rape" me on the freeway, I laughed straight in her face and my friends told her she was an idiot(they own camaros) but its pretty much the attitude of the whole group that gets me.

hey now my camaro would blow my laser without even trying. well considering that the camaro is a lt4 with a lil vortech bolt on. but anyways has anyone ran 225/50/15 bfg drag radials with sucess? i use them and they still slip off the line alot, do you have to preheat these things? i got them down to 18psi and do a lil warm up before i take off it helped a lil

2.5 to a 2.2 but my friend with his honda went from 2.6 to a 1.9 and i know he dont drive better then me

anyways can anyone lend some information?

you know both nitto and bfgoodrich says you dont have to do a burnout on these, but here is what i found out

i have the gforce 225/45/17 drags on my fwd and it has maybe about 15% better traction just driving around. 1 day I overreved and dropped the clutch and just lit them up in smoke pretty damn good and then stoped and tried to launch and I swear, they grabbed probably 50% better

SOOO....I found out that by really heating them up they do stick better, what sux about that is that they wear out alot faster

But when i warm them up, and try to launch at 4000rpm, I bog down, unless I build up boost with a studder box

Once I get my tranny in, I got 2 big races setup for me already

1 against an 98 s10 with an ls1 swap, sts rear mounted turbo, 6speed and slicks, weighs about 3700lb

Another one with a 98 mustang gt, with a rebuilt slightly stroked engine, new gt heads and cam, all bolt ons, nitto drag radials, 5speed

I will have my TRE tranny with quaife, 225/45/17 gforce drag radials, my current t3/04b 50trim turbo at about 24psi on race gas, comp cams and my meth/water injection and trusty dsmlink

We'll see how it goes, its for alot of bragging rights sorta, LOL...the truck recently ran a 12.9@110mph and it will have a bit more power when we race. The mustang launches great, but I dont think its gonna have enough topend to hang with me, I just hope I can get a decent launch

What compression pistons do you have? You can go more than 24 psi on race gas. I ran 25 psi on pump gas and it really hauled ass before blowing my turbo. I am trying to find a place to make my 3" 4 bolt 02 housing for me. All the local places are busy and I don't think you can order them from anyone. I have a race lined up also when my car is done. It is against a guy with a 03 mustang GT. It has an exhaust and filter on it and he thinks he will kill me. I will most likely be taking money from him or trying to get him to race for money because of how cocky he is.

girlieracr4g63-Why do you say high hp doesn't matter. As I recall, the fastest FWD is making over 700whp, not around 300. Topend acceleration helps a lot. I know getting out of the hole is important, but you need the power to accelerate you down the track also. We'll see if I can get to the track this year with my FWD and new turbo. I am good at launching an awd, but hae never launched a fwd before. The studder box and 26x10 slicks should help though.

with too much HP you can always get a 2 stage boost controller, flip the boost on low in the 1st 2 gears, and crank it up in the last 2

My profec b has a remote so i can control boost from the steering wheel. I keep boost in 1st gear at 14psi and the rest at 22psi

THis allows 1st gear to spin ever so slightly but not go crazy outta control

fwd are capable of putting down good numbers as long as you dont see newbs having 500- 600 hp going to the track on street tires and wondering why they can get out of the 13's i went 13.0 at 107 witha 2.1 sixty foot on a stock clutch with radials the clutch was slipping.. just did my motor swap. 6 bolt built with a 20g frank turbo externally gated and went a 14.0 at 110 and i was 12 mph behind in the 1/8 as compared to the 13.0.. all because i wanted to see what it would do on street tires.. pulled a nice 2.48 sixty foot..

fwd's shouldn't be at the track unless they are at least on drag radials, otherwise, its just embarrasing

I could never get out of the 14's on street tires...its worthless

I still wish I had an AWD, you never have to worry about putting the power down

I would just love to once be able to go WOT in 1st gear and actually put it all down, that would probably feel pretty nuts
