Give me a effing break. If another 10 cents/gallon breaks your bank, you need to sell your car and drive something else. At the most, you would put in another 2 bucks.

I know gas sucks people but for christ sake, you NEED it, you WILL buy it. Quit being cheap.

$3.14 for 93 octane here in central Wisconsin. I've suspended all modifications and racing until things are better. It just isn't worth it. There are too many other things too worry about than cars, like what winter heating is going to be like.

But the real question is will gas prices ever go back down to where they used to be? I kinda doubt it. Maybe I should just buy a CRX or something haha.

I can't find the link right now to the press release, but the major oil companies and OPEC or whatever released a statment saying that the reason the prices have jumped so high in the US is because the two main pipelines that flow to the entire eastern half of the united states are running at LESS than 30% capacity. They basically said that once the lines are repaired and back up and running- prices should go down... at least a little.

Today i was at the mitsubish dealer for 5 hours waiting for my car and cnn was on, so i will give you the latest on what i saw. CNN said the gas prices may start coming down, but not as fast as they went up. As for oil, i dont think we have a problem. Kuwait just gave us $400 million in oil and $100 million cash. I don't really have a problem with the gas prices. They are high, but i need the gas so i will pay $3.39 for it.

Oil does not have my trust, neither does greed.

My wife & I have a combined commute of about 6,000 miles/month...These prices are burning a hole in our wallets. I was fine with the already outrageous $2/gallon...but barely a year later and another dollar per gallon? I think the prices are nuts...it's not like we're going to run out of resources any time soon. I remember when I was ten years old and the gas was only .89 per gallon of 93 octane...Too bad that'll never happen again.

i don't care what anyone says they are price gouging. they raised the price right after hurricane Katrina because they said it took out a few refineries. well thats fine but you can't raise the price of gas that was already paid less for! thats illegal. thats like saying OK i have these 80 bags of sugar i paid 50 cents for. i normally sell them for 1.00 a bag but i know that a sugar refinery is having problems and is going to start charging more so let me sell them at 2.00 a bag for sugar i already had. thats called price gouging and its illegal. too bad the fines that are imposed even it proved are just a small fraction of the profit that was made. how can you possible charge 3.xx for gas that you paid let's say 1.40 for just because you know its going to be 2.00 in a few weeks. freaking greedy ass corporate whores. also if you search around you will find that over 50% of the refineries that were shut down because of the hurricane are back up and running yet the prices keep increasing.

You guys hear about the donation by Kuwait for the hurricane relief? I would think that a donation of this size would at least curtail oil prices? In todays world the govt or oil companies will probably just sell it after they obtained it for free.

The prices per barrel have gone down due to the donations, though refining is still the main bottleneck. Our prices went down to $2.99 for 93octane today as opposed to 3.45 or whatever they were earlier in the week. You guys still above $3??

prices haven't budged in the past 3 weeks here in NJ. the lowest I have been able to find premium for is 3.34. i thought this was a little funny though. i was driving down the highway by my house and happened to pass an area where there is a Mobile gas station on the westbound side and another Mobile gas station directly across the highway on the eastbound side. now this is where i got stumped. the price for premium at the station on the westbound side was 3.39 a gallon and on the eastbound side it was 3.49 a gallon. uhm...whats the deal with that?????

They do that all the time! In San Francisco, there will be a 76 with $3.29 for premium and a block down a Chevron will have premium for $3.79 and then another block down another Chevron will have it for $3.39. Gas stations have independent owners and they charge what they want.

yeah but i know these two have the same owner because i talk to the one gas station attendant who sometimes works at the other one when someone calls out sick.
