Ok, I know he has been on the dyno with his new setup, but is he keeping the numbers on the down low? I want to know what his car is putting down. :sneaky:

Those who say he's never been on a dyno, I was checking out another local shops site. Switzer Inovations, Tym Switzers shop, and I look and see a small picture of Shepard on their new AWD dyno, but no more info. The only thing that I dont understand is, Buschur built Shepards motor, and Tym and Dave haven't really been getting along from what I understood, why is Shepards Buschur backed car getting dynoed at another local rivallys shop? Im wondering if it is becuase Buschur didn't have an AWD dyno at the time?

That is definetly sheps new setup though, he had that metal cover in front of the bumber, that Carbon fiber one I saw on it at the shootout is brand new. :sneaky:

Making acusations of no less than three heros of the DSM world based on a thumbnail of a Dark 1G DSM on a dyno with three backs turned is pretty.. well.. stupid :notgood:

I suggest if you really must know you pick up the phone.
 
That is definetly Sheps car, ive sat in it a couple times and seen it run multiple times at the track rental. These guys are all local to me, but no one will spit out the truth. I have all 3 people on my speed dial, they wont tell, so Im wondering if its been leaked out yet.

EDIT: And the guy in black on his knees is John.
 
Dave mentined that he was having "moral" issues regarding the HP reading's that were coming from his correctly calibrated Dyno, expecially with higher HP cars.
What better test mule than John's, high HP tuned well to be able to replicate results, and known weight.
A very choice car for comparison purposes.
Just a guess though.
 
I have personally delt with all three of those guys. Each one has gone out of his way to help me when I needed it. They have earned my respect and to be honest what they do and how much horsepower they make is none of my buisness. Where they measure it, what turbo they run, why they do stuff, all of that is none of my buisness. Shep has in the past been very open about his progress and I honestly feel that if he wanted me to know about his horsepower or the details under which it was measured, it would be public knowlege.

Dave, Tym, and John all have vesteded interests in the progress and development of their racecars. They work hard to feed their families with the information they gather from research and development of parts and methods. Its none of our buisness unless what they claim they can't back up with numbers. As far as I know those three guys are the best in the buisness when it comes to delivering what they claim.

Besides, you can always just plug in some numbers in a HP calculator and get an idea of what he's making. I would guess 1100hp. If he rolled his car on a dyno and made 1150hp right in front of me what would it matter? This isn't about trailer queen Supra....Shep's numbers can be found at DSMtimes.org.
 
If you must know yes I was on the dyno but was only checking to make sure the secondaries were coming in and transitioning properly... thats all. MPH speaks horspower to me. So to me I did no "dyno" the car even though it was on a dyno. Call Tym and ask him if I was trying for any #. I put the timing to 0 on the top end and 10 in the midrange and put straight boost to the gate to tame it down as much as I could.
 
thats cool but you know everyone is a horsepower freak so there all going to look at what numbers get a 1g into the 10sec & below brackets.. but :thumb: to shep.
 
Im still trying to figure out what the hell the point of this thread was?
