damm Thats FLYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice times...glad to see he's going faster...Maybe we can see 7's in an AWD car???

I think at the right track he could hit it...prepped right and getting full power out fo the car.

Anyway glad to see he's doing well.

thats awesome. I wonder what he'll run when he can use ALL the power he has. His best mph so far is just shy of 177. A big congrats to John.

He has gone 177 but it wasnt his best et.

As for the MPH, it is 100+ degrees out there today which could be most of the power loss. But I am looking at the fact that he got knocked out of the eliminations in the 1st round with a 17.383 @ 46.51mph. I hope the car is ok...

if not, i'm sure he'll get it fixed soon :thumb:

awesome times though.. i'm hoping to see 7's though

how the hell are we getting beat out by a Cobalt(look on the nopi list linked above)?

I was there to see the 8.43 run. It was actually 108 degrees yesterday when he ran it. I talked to him and his crew about running 7's and they think/hope he can break the 7's soon but did'nt expect to in st.louis due to it being so hot(today reached 103 degrees). John and his crew are really great people. It sucked seeing him go out in the first round. Brent Rau also did really good yesterday running a 7.13, which is his fastest time to date and also made it to the final round for the first time this year.

Thanks guys and thanks to Ron Shearer for all the help even with the temps. There are several reason the mph was down but they will be taken care of before the next race. We normally make soem major changes before each race trying to get it dialed in. I still expect some decent drops in et.

thanks to all the fans that came by to say hi. If I was not out I was probably trying to get out of the heat.

John

Since many of us are able to follow your progress on the nopi website, could you shed some light on what happened to the car in the 1st round of eliminations with the 17 second run. Watching it online sure looks weird when you watch a 8.4 pass followed by a 17 sec pass, just curious....

Well , being very frustrated with how the car was leaving I had the bright idea of leaving the line with a little over 30 lbs of boost and had the 100 shot coming on also. Bad things happened to the transfer case.

So basically you said "Fock it" and just went for it...I love it :D

you would not happen to have a picutre of it would you? I know some people do not like to post up pics when something like this happens but I'm just curious as to what that much power would do to a transfer case.

and, 30lbs leaving the line.... wish my turbo could make 30 lbs period. yikes!

i didnt know about this till i checked nopi tonight. i saw the 8.55 in bristol, and talked to him for a second.
good luck in the rest of the season.

8.43 vid

Here is a video of the 8.43. Notice the bad launch and then it takes off like a rocket. I have never had it pull so hard. We are getting closer but those first few feet will easily hurt you at least a tenth.

We are going to be trying a new system for getting the antilag to come off but probably not until the shootout.
