I dont know if anyone else has this problem. But i got SICK of the fuse box getting in my way all the time.
Everytime i wanted to take my upper greddy pipe off i had to remove it. Plus it was just an eye sore.

So anyway i decided to move it to the batterys old location.

It took all of about 10 minutes total. I had to make a bracket to hold it up and rerun the wires.
No big deal

IMO it was completely worth the time and effort.

And now for pics......

Let me know what you think.. Sorry about the after pic being so dark.:thumb:

Looks nice actually.
Make a writeup and post it up in the writeup section bro.

Let it be known you did it, and give us the information on how to do it.
Awsome idea tho dude!

:thumb: , Now im going to relocate my battery to be able to do the same thing, cause yes it is a big pain removing it to remove the uicp, :thumb:

It would have to be a multiple part write up, since I did the battery relocation, then i relocated my cruise control to have room. But honestly it was not all that hard and pretty cheap to do.

Better weight distribution at autocross. More engine bay room. Less weight, due to brackets.

Everyone says that it will hurt a GST in the 1/4 since more weight will be on the rear. But i am still pulling 2.1 60 foots on my street tires with my battery in the trunk. So i do not think it is as bad as everyone says.

Alot of people do it when they are also upgrading there stereo system.

I know I'm bringing this thread back from the dead, but I was wondering, Wikkedson, if you could take some more pics of the cruise and fuse relocation that you did. I would just like to see the brackets and such used/made and thought it would be worth while to add to this thread.

The vfaq on the 2g cruise relocation no longer works, the link is dead. I'm currently doing a 6bolt swap and am moving the battery to the back and want to move my fusebox and cruise.

Pics and some explanation on what you did would be way cool. There are less than a dozen threads on this topic, at least when I searched at 11:39am EST on 7.15.05

TIA! :thumb:

Defiant thanks for finding that link. The one on the VFAQ page itself is busted.

What I really am trying to get a look at here is how he mounted the fusebox and cruise selenoid thing in the engine bay. The one pic he has that shows it is kind of dark and it would be sweet to see it up close and the brackets used and such.

I'm sure this is a fairly easy and I'm going to do it myself anyways but seeing how others have done it is always helpful to me at least
