Whenever there is valve contact I recommend that you scrap the entire engine. The head can be damaged (plus the valve train) and the pistons are also damaged and even the main bearings can be damaged. Look for a JDM importer in your area or a junkyard for a new long block. The junkyard I go to sells non turbo blocks for $100.00 but you have to pull it yourself. That one shop that quoted you $500.00 to repair the damage is bullshitting you. Its going to cost ALOT more money to fix the problem correctly.

Snapped the timing belt, bent the valves and damaged the valve guides. All the shops around me said "Sorry, we only work on hondas!!" and the one shop that said theyd do it wants to charge me 500. Any one know of any good shops in the Royal Palm Beach Fl. area? Loss of my baby is killing me, Im stuck driving my fiancee's KIA (wanna drive it into a canal!!!!!).

ok so i bought my car on 6/14/05 and ran it for a while and realiazed that the coolant was brown so i flushed that. then it was smoking a ton so i had to change the oil. Next the upper radiator hose was leaking so i had to replace that. and then 2 days ago the battery died on me and i had to get that replaced. and then the new battery died and its in the shop now (i think its the alternator) Other than all this junk i love the car

This is my second post on this thread. My car is down again.

My 14b is toasted (I think). I still have to take it off. In the last month, I've put close to 2,000 in to this car. And believe me, I'm a budget dsm'er.

Down tonight...clutch went...ACT 2100 + Lightweight flywheel go in tomorrow.

...I have a bad feeling this is only the beginning of the problems...

accessory belt snapped ..

powersteering rack went and spline pin and steering colum clamp is stripped

Well, my car is STILL down :notgood: but not OOC :thumb: Im having TPS voltage issues and too much oil pressure. The oil psi is so high that its causing leaks at engine speeds above 2800rpm, which is when the needle is almost to the H line HOT OMG WTF I had it on the road a couple times, aside from the part-throttle roughness because of that damn TPS voltage  it ran pretty well and scared all the fellow-motorists

ahhh that's like the worst!!!!!!! I feel so bad for you. I know what it's like. Sonicnofadz probably knows too....

we still have nightmares about the time my spline pin and column clamp got separated and wouldn't go back on.

drove my dsm into a mountain,it was either mountain or cliff,i chose mountain.Took a 30 mph turn at 75 or so,got too happy on the twisties, dip after right turn, stock suspension,205 tires, oversteer, countersteer, unrecoverable fishtail, mountain.Cars been at the bodyshop for about 3 weeks, cars been down for about 2 months now.Amazingly i slowed the car down alot before impact and only bent the lower radiator frame, not to mention my bumper cover made my dsm look like a vegeterian bulldog.Anyways, lower radiator frame not available and had to buy the whole suppert,on top of that I'm broke. So I'm having the framework done and in acouple of months I'll get a bumper and paint it,so after i replaced the radiator, oil cooler and lines, condenser i gotta pay the bodyshop about a grand to fix my framework, and 250 for the bodykit(no stock turbo bumper available anywhere)which is 250 shipped + 250 painted. so bout 2 grand is the price I'm paying for 5 seconds of stupidity.

My GSX has been done almost 2 years now. Replacing everything on it that I can. It should be going in another 6 or 7 months. For now Im driving an '81 Toyota Pickup.

blew the transmission  up but it was kind of a good thing it completley stopped me from doing everything so i had time to install some parts i had bought :D

Stored for the winter, car wont start, 2 flat tires.

need to do brakes but dont have the special socket for my lug nuts.

finally got it back from the place that put the tires on, let home i can do the brakes this weekend

Mines down, spun main bearing. Thought I might as well update everything while I'm at it.

Driving a 300Z until I get around to it.

i think turbo is dead ill look at it saturday.drove it home from work gave it hell...LOL
and when i turned it off smoke came poring out of hood on passenger side.no visible damage so im thinkin turbo.

been down for 3 months  a so called bud did the shift kit install, shortly after that, went to dealer for t-case recall, get it back from dealer, 2days bam trans is dead. Valve body totally messed up, and internal damage. So been looking and found a trans, Its about %40 done LOL.

While its down, its getting the 97 conversion, new tires/rims, brakes, hubs, front axles, oil change, rad flush, new trans mission, new turbo EVO 3 :D ,Greddy turbo timer, Greddy boost controller, egt gauge, oil press gauge, Intake, new UPIC pipping from RRE, Greddy type s bov and while the engine is out, revised lifters, tbelt and a few gaskets replace have an oil leak some where.

It sucks not having your dsm, i just cant wait to drive it. :thumb:

The oil leak was my front main seal, a wiseman said that it was a result of my oil pressure being too high. The car will run after this is fixed, run safely too, aside from the TPS voltage. I just cant drive the car until its fully warm because of it and gotta drive with higher rpms. It'll be running by this week later on though, so Im not too worried anymore now that I know what the problem is... :D

my car is down, due to the lovely Maine state inspection laws..... and i also need a whole gas tank, fuel pump, and sending unit. mine so rusted the bolts look like rust balls. and a windshield to pass that annoying inspection.
just for a little blue stupid sticker to be put on the windshield.

My 1996 is down. Just installed a 2.4L 4G64 with a GT35R. I have approx 600 miles on the engine. The timing belt had the incorrect tension. The timing belt slipped, bent the valve and the car should be down for at least a week. 20 Miles before the problem, I finished a mild dyno of 292WHP and 275lb/ft torque. This was at only 1 bar as the spring in the external WG was the smallest one. Oh well - shit happens.

I think mine just suffered a burnt valve or broken valve spring. I don't know which yet.
