i have a 1990 GSX. it has 188 000miles on it. seems to run pretty good. interior great shape, exterior starting to rust...can definatley see it getting worse.
i love my car but im scared it might start to die on me. i wouldnt mind rebuilding the engine but would other things start to go wrong? like water pump, radiator, tranny, drivetrain etc.

basically do you think its worth it for me to keep it, rebuild it, live through the exterior till i get enough $$ and hope nothing else goes wrong or i could buy another car with low kms and in pretty good shape for a difference of around $1600. i would probly be looking at an rx-7 or 240sx, something liike that.

also the turbo went on me a couple of months ago so i got a new small 16g in there now.

u know what to do, but sorry to hear that.

PM ME WHEN U ARE GOING TO PART IT OUT!!!

another mans trash, is another mans treasure!!! ;)

With 188,000 miles its time to let the car go.

Drive it and do maintenance on it until it dies and part it out. If it starts to nickle and dime you to death sell it. Save every penny you can so you can buy something much newer instead of another (albeit rust-free) older car. I don't care who makes it, an older car will slowly send you to the poor house.

Who is the sucker that is going to buy a 1990 DSM with 188k on it. I would just part that bi*** out

thanks guys i just really needed to hear it from someone else besides my own brain.

I would take it to the track and give it the beating of it's life before you part it out...that's what i'm doing to mine :thumb: i'm going to cut the roof off and drive it like that too if it doesn't die at the track..
