I searched and there are no threads about this, im assuming you all live in a place where you can find these cars being parted out next door

Anyways, shifting from first into second and darn near pulled the shifter into the cup holder, was hoping I just broke the shifter

But the cable at the transmission has seperated internally. Is this something i can repair, or do I need to message miller import parts to find a set of replacement shifter cables? Just trying to find out before I waste time or money, if I can repair it on the car or if I would just be wasting time and need to replace it

This is looking down at the trans from the top

I have had that shit happen to me at the track, 80 miles from home. I was in my DD, just having fun, showing the kids (that's been a while.....) how to stage and when to leave the line (on the last YELLOW ) when the outer sheath on one of my Saturns shift cables came apart, just like yours.

I hit up all the pits for some hose clamps and clamped the sheath back to the end of the cable and that thing held until I rebuilt the motor and put new cables on it. It was not visible from the top (that one is under the car on the drivers side) but I got to it from the bottom on that car.
It was just a get me by thing but it lasted another 20k miles.

Best bet is set of used cables, IDT they make new sets anymore.
Millers now =...

Alright, was able to find a junkyard on craigslist with this ad that was 30 days old. Called up there asking about how picked over it was, lady said it still shows to have an engine and transmission.

So it was about 90 miles away but ive got no choice at this point

We get there and the car is still decently intact, I would say other than missing the rear bumper then car was very clean (for a convertible sitting in junk yard)

Managed to get the front bumper, front headlights, front bumper air ducting, the passenger side fender liner, the drivers side engine bay splash guard, functional power antenna, stock radio with metal brackets, stock shifter cables, for about $215

Technically he charged me $3 for the shifter cables. If I went up there with only the shifter cables im positive he would have charged me tons more, he was trying to get pricing comps from ebay on the body pieces, he never checked for comps on the shifter cables

Oh and for some reason some one put a 2001 eclipse 4 cylinder in this 99. Exhaust manifold was on the back of the head
