My goal is 400+whp, I am currently using a bastard billet 16g On 20 psi making 350whp according to ecm link. If i remember correctly this turbo flows something like 43lb/min and the new v3 is 52lb/min. So i expect a quicker spool and a little more top end. Maybe someone has more solid information on flow rates regarding the bastard billet 16g? Also looking for experiences and solid data for the V3 mainly.

What is a bastard 16G? I've heard the term bastard 20G before, which refers to a 20G wheel tucked into a stock housing. If you have a billet wheel 16G from an overseas supplier, expect that the new FP turbo will make a bit more power at higher boost levels (the wheel specs favor the FP a tad, they will flow 51 lb/min if the turbine allows, which is the same as previous 68HTA models), and have similar spool.

Never heard of a “bastard 16g”, however like stated above I’ve heard of a td05 20g with the stock appearing cover instead of the down firing job referred to as a bastard 20g. If it’s a 20g wheel then technically it’s slightly bigger than the 68hta v1 and v2 compressor wheel and you probably wouldn’t notice much difference switching to the 68hta.

Just for a reference point, my buddy made 391 on a heartbreaker Mustang dyno on a fwd automatic 1g with a different torque converter, that was on e85 and cranked to all the 68hta v1 would give, but you have to figure in being an auto and a low reading dyno it would’ve seen over 400 on a dynojet no problem. Car went 10.96 on that set up and is daily driven from April to November so in my opinion it’s proved itself quite worthy and the dyno number is irrelevant at that point, but not a number I would be upset about either.
