Yes I have read that already, I ordered one from a seller on eBay and they're insisting that they come that way from Mitsubishi. Do you know if they revised it at some point to be hollow? They look identical from the outside except for the fact that it is cross-drilled.

I really don't know. I was hoping one of the more experienced members would chime in. After re-reading that article (the first post from the supporting vendor DSSA) it seems very clear that the OEM part number is solid, never cross drilled. I think you got took or the seller did. Unless the U-joint comes in a sealed plastic bag with the Mitsubishi Motors part number sticker on it, I would have my doubts. Does it look like the DSM joint on the left shown in the picture (with the circular rim)?
If it does, but it's cross drilled, even if not OEM it sounds like it would probably work for you depending upon how much power you are making. I don't know how much power a 13 second car makes.

I'm expecting an order from JNZ Tuning next week, who assured me the ones they sell are solid, so we shall see when they get here and I'll report back.

For stock power levels and no launching, sure. But if you're putting power down, you really should have solid OEM spiders. IMO

I was fine up till 400hp then went driveshaft shop.. i bent my shaft not the joint though

Well, DSSA is JNZ tuning, he wrote that first post I linked to, so he would know. Share the part number if you can- he has either gotten some OEM in, or found another source!

Will do. I've never ever had any issues with JNZ so I trust ill get what I need. I'll post back with details once I get them here.

Yeah...the hollow ones are weaker. I break those everytime I launch my car on slicks. Every. Time.
