I did a thing :D

made my own mounts, had to notch/plate frame to fit auto trans

7 bolt, eagle stroker crank, 2g head, kelford 272, kiggly springs, hla, k1 rods, wiseco HD pistons, built by @donniekak
Xona 7157s in a FP30 housing with FP mani
Evo3 intake mani
Bosch 210lb injectors
Walbro 525
Fueltech ft550

AWD auto, (well used from mr jewer :D), welded center diff, kiggly front diff saddle, shift kit, clutches, PI #6 converter, kiggly flexplate

DIY "custom" axles. Rav4 axles, with mitsu inner cups swapped on (took some digging through my spares to find the right cups to fit the rav4 ball diameter), non-turbo mr2 hubs

Lot of cool suspension stuff from wilhelm raceworks. wilwood brake kit. 18x9.5 275/35/18 rear; 17x9 235/40/17 front

Built the car in 3mo on weekends. and made it to Sick Week drag n drive event, just in time. Completed it and ran a best of 11.76. (we have a whole youtube series on our experience that week if you want to watch)

Plenty more power left and plenty of refinement left to do. But TTops with 4g auto is awesome :D

Thanks guys!

Will dump in some photos from my build thread in 3si

Been driving it as much as possible. Took son to bday party and also been driving it to airport for work.

2970 with me in it. Including small subwoofer. Haven't corner scaled it yet, but would expect 35/65 F/R.

I recently removed the AC compressor for now ~15lbs and will also be deleting the power steering items guessing 10lbs. So will be ~2945 until I add AC back in at some point.

mr2 is not awd. would be cool but not currently a plan.

who knows what's next LOL. maybe i 6g swap something for once LOL

Another successful airport round trip. ~18mpg on e85. Not awful for no lock up on tq converter.

Next steps soon, need to order some new rear tires to meet hard tire rules and swap front springs to lighter to help for weight transfer in new prep. Also will be doing front ball joints, inner tie rods and de-power rack.

Very nice. You should take it all the way...and get the record....which is held by a Kseries swapped Mister2. I have always loved these 2nd gens! They just don't build cars like these anymore.

There's one that lives at the end of my street(second gen MR2, not K-swapped. LOL) that's a 3S-GTE. He tried to buy my 2G Talon back before I wanted to sell it, but it worked out pretty well for him. Got rid of his bugeye WRX wagon for it. I really love that era of cars, man. Nothing like it anymore.

No plans for records with the car. I don't want to cage it and ruin TTop life. My wife and I really enjoyed it. I did just order some new tires that meet "hard tire" no prep class rules so I can have a little fun racing it. Probably not enough power to keep up with the turbo or nitrous v8's but I'll have some fun.

currently mid-project of new inner tie-rods (shot! and causing a shimmy), new ball joints, depowering steering rack and lighter front springs from 300lb/in to 150 to get that no prep weight transfer :D

I love seeing people keep the 4g63 alive! Let me know if you ever figure out a plan to get the A/C system working.

Oh I just checked my build post(I haven't looked at it in years), you already got the motor mounts figured out. My Project is still alive and running, I just don't post. I never have really refined alot of the things I did to get the car running. I drive it every now and then but I am over driving in the heat without A/C. Good luck with the build!
