More parts in. Hopefully I finally have everything I need. Need to quit adding stuff LOL

Got the cherry sensor I needed for the trans input speed sensor setup.

6EEEADB2-0085-4437-9F24-3CE67D285E60.jpeg

Also picked this dead plug setup to make my sensor 5v and sensor ground distribution easier.

4B2B445B-EE6E-4C72-A1DF-8035CE909383.jpeg

So after the holiday hustle was over I decided to put the connector on the cherry sensor.

And it’s ready to go.

Next pics will be me getting this sensor installed on the trans and the plug for the other old oem sensor on the trans. Then maybe I can finally start the wire harness.

Well after almost a month I finally have some more done.

46F3C73E-1C23-4F38-A079-D8BADCEAAD4A.jpeg

Got the antilag racing auto sensor plug and adapter put on the trans. These fit perfect.

I decided I wanted to make a sub harness for the trans, trans temp sensor, and trans cooler fan. There’s a few things I would’ve liked to do differently but came out pretty well.

While I was at it I added this weather pack plug to the vacuum pump. Hoping to get started on the harness soon.

Weekend update:

6541B88F-8728-4BD3-AC0F-986A999099BF.jpeg

So I picked up a few of these prewired pressure sensor plugs to try to make wiring the pressure sensors up a little easier.

36912B58-AA20-4C35-A421-545914E38EE0.jpeg

Added the labels on and they’re ready to get laid out and wired now. Thinking about leaving the emap wiring a little long if I decide to change the setup later on.

529420FB-D2E8-46F2-B079-013C0455FFF5.jpeg

Next I made a harness to run out to the nitrous and purge solenoids. Pretty happy with how that turned out

7654F8C5-DCF2-4606-A959-CB30543B7218.jpeg

This was in the middle of wiring them up. Took both grounds and put them into one wire. Then put the ends on to the power wires and put them on the relay board.

38E574C0-D8F0-4205-91E4-A2C4D1319821.jpeg

I then decided to put the harnesses together and start slowly laying it out inside the car. Put tape in a couple spots so I know the in car routing and where it’s going to go out through the firewall. I then pulled it out and started splitting the wires up even more than I previously had (what goes into the engine bay and what stays inside)

2C188F82-B516-48E7-A9A8-BE84375871A3.jpeg

I also added the wideband harness into the mix. Next I’m going to go get some twine so I can plan the layout in the car and build the harness on a table.

I have had a blast reading through all this thread your set up is like exactly what I had planned to do for my own build. However maybe I missed it , but what holset are you running and do you remember what the hose came off of that you used for the upper rad hose?

I’m currently running a 60mm 8 blade hx40. I found out after I had bought it that it’s on the lower end of the hx40s but so far it’s been treating me well.

Which upper radiator hose are you referring to?

Oh nice im on a hx40/35 hybrid 6060 this season, You had an upper rad hose that you found that connects to your chase bays water neck, and ran to the rad. That set up looked really clean.

I think it was from an 80s bmw but can’t remember now. Took some trimming to make it fit. I figured it’ll work till I take the plunge to put an hose/ fittings on there

Small update since the weekend brought cold weather 🙄:

B21AB76F-B062-4A11-9FF9-35A07EFE41B6.jpeg

So these were some outputs that I’m not using so instead of cutting the wires and hiding rhem
Somewhere I decided to put plugs on them so that if I need them later on I can do so easily.

5A4DEC2A-F72B-4DB9-88F1-8D34E5B90916.jpeg

I then started getting inputs and outputs pulled back and set into place so when I lay the harness in the car I won’t have to fight anything.
C8A29341-077D-47FE-963E-8ABBF67DCFD4.jpeg

Harness is pretty well done till I get rope and make a mock up so I can lay it all out on a bench and get it finished up.

I’m also planning on getting another connector to add to my relay board to make putting my outputs and power wires on the board easier. Going to order it and I’ll get some pics up when it shows. Going to try to get some more work done tomorrow.

Small update on this wiring job:

So I got to looking at running the outputs and stuff from the harness to the relay board and got to thinking that if I ever take the harness out it’ll be such a pain to unhook all those wires off my buss bars. So did some digging and came across some flanged Deutsch connectors. So got some ordered in and got to work

So after these things got here I pulled the relay board back out of the car and picked a couple spots to put these.

Second one mounted up for the nitrous stuff going out.

Now it’s time to wire this board up and finally (knocking on wood) it’ll be complete.

So I’ve also got a firewall bulkhead connector ordered in to make the engine bay side wiring that much easier. Waiting on it to ship still 🙄.

I’m going to get the relay board mounted back in the car and get the nitrous plug wired up, set the harness back in the car and trim the wires going to the 12 pin and start wiring that side of the plug.

Update pics from yesterday afternoon:

So went out and put the relay board back in the car. Also wired my 3 pin connector up to plug into the board and also started wiring my 12 pin (I’ll finish it once my firewall connector gets here)

I then made some measurements and brought the harness back in the house to make some more additions.

742BA1AB-989E-4FDC-A5A9-4371A6A19ECC.jpeg

This is a distribution connector for my sensor ground and sensor 5v for inside the car.

90EA976D-4C3D-487A-9FAE-22FE530C38D9.jpeg

Also added this eyelet for my battery grounds all to go to my firewall bulkhead.

I’m also planning on moving my emap canister. I think if I take some more time in planning that one I can find a better spot for it that will make working on the car a lot easier. I’ll post more on that once I decide where to put it

Little Sunday update:

EAE122F3-52BB-4628-9F52-80601DA90006.jpeg

Pulled the insulation off the firewall in preparation for the firewall plug install.

AB365BA8-E169-4161-9D79-56DD4652CB5E.jpeg

Got the emap
Canister moved off the intake and put it on the firewall. Also after bumping the fuel pressure a donzen times trying to get the intake off I’m going to put a 90* fitting on it.

Saturday update:

Today is the day we make a hole in the firewall!!
1EF9DF7B-4168-49FF-B8B9-07078E72FB37.jpeg

Got my template taped on the firewall and went to town.

D2B9B0C6-1F4F-440C-971B-DEB2645C11CF.jpeg

Got the trim ring for the bulkhead connector bolted down on the firewall. That took a little finessing on the inside to get the studs to poke through bolts pieces of metal.

Marked the harness where it pokes through the firewall and cut. Then it was time to start wiring.

67FC09C0-9431-4794-B45E-F1F96C8F00DD.jpeg

Got a couple things o. This side to finish up and it’ll get mounted inside the car and I’ll start putting the dash back in.

55EA2856-4025-41D7-BC56-29FE5663C28B.jpeg

Also picked this heat shrink kit up to make sure I have plenty when I start making this harness.
